Story
A heartwarming, uplifting village romance for fans of Holly Martin, Tilly Tennant and Cathy Bramley. Buying a thatched cottage in the country may not be the usual cure for a broken heart. But after Clara Maxwell finds out her boyfriend and best friend have been sneaking around behind her back, packing her bags and leaving everything in London behind feels like it's the only way forward. When Henry Garnett, her (rather handsome) new contractor, turns up with his little daughter Pansy and a van shaped like a cottage in tow, she isn't sure whether to laugh or cry.

Despairing of her own ability to find a suitable husband, Emma agrees to be part of a compatibility project to get married at first sight.
Meanwhile Cooper is struggling to get over his crush on Bridget and seems destined to stay firmly on the shelf too. Perhaps it’s time his fate was taken out of his hands....

Refreshing
A story about a strong loving family and five sisters and their relationships with the men in their lives and each other. A sweet story about a young man in love with one sister and marrying another in a research project and their discoveries they all make about themselves and each other along the way. Great narration too. I hope Beth Moran writes even more books with the same soul and familial bonds as this one.

Cringey Accents
Love Beth Moran stories. Always a delight, however I am just a few chapters in and debating on whether or not I can even finish the audible version of the story due to how awful some of the accents are. I cringe everytime I hear some of the characters names mentioned because I know the bad accent is to follow. Just takes away from what otherwise is a lovely book with a otherwise good actress reading it.

Love This Author
Loved it. Moran's interaction between characters brings smiles, laughter, happy and sad tears, sometimes righteous indignation for one or many characters. I have enjoyed her books so much I usually end up sleep depraved so I can get to the next few chapters. A good listen for aure.

Engaging book
I enjoyed all the intertwining stories and getting to know the different characters. I loved the fact that i was immersed in the lives of the whole family, and the complexities of the situation stayed, indeed, complex. I adored getting to know Cooper and be able to see things from his perspective. The narrator was tremendous.

Really Cute Story
This was a really fun story. I loved all the characters despite their flaws, and I was genuinely wondering how everything would work out! There was a great twist that I didn’t expect, and I enjoyed it so much! I agree that some of the accents were a little over the top, but it was fine. I was able to let it go and enjoy the story.

Very bad accents!
The actress who performed the book did a great job...EXCEPT her accents for two of the characters were ridiculously bad. The story was cute, although not as endearing as some other Beth Moran books. I'm glad I listened to it overall, but those bad accents kept making me cringe!

Alright but ending was bit naff!

Liked it until the very end
I partly agree with a previous review... the end of the book made a lot of the story and intrigues in it completely meaningless... Kind of like: Oh, I'm so craving a sandwich... but just to be awkward I'll throw it away when it's done... And it's not like it cave the book any kind of originality or edge... just a feeling of anticlimax...

A little unsatisfying.
Honestly, I found this book arc pretty depressing! I don’t want to give it away, but if you’re picking this up for a mindless Hollywood happy ending (as I was) then maybe scroll along?
I picked this on the back of the warm fuzzies from Christmas Every Day. Not quite the same vibe!
