Publisher's Summary

Meet Patrick Cooper - desperately down on his luck and head-over-heels in unrequited love with his best friend, Bridget.

Meet Bridget's sister, Emma Donovan - eternally single maker-of-cakes for many a happy couple, whilst never making it down the aisle herself.

Emma has four younger sisters, all of whom are married or getting married, and an Italian mother who can’t understand what is ‘wrong’ with her eldest daughter, who seems to be stranded on the shelf. Despairing of her own ability to find a suitable husband, Emma agrees to be part of a compatibility project to get married at first sight.

Meanwhile Cooper is struggling to get over his crush on Bridget and seems destined to stay firmly on the shelf too. Perhaps it’s time his fate was taken out of his hands....

Is happily-ever-after just about daring to take a chance, or do you need some extra magic to make love last?

Join Beth Moran, Cooper and the Donovan sisters on this life-affirming and uplifting tale of love, family, friendship and risking it all for happiness.

Refreshing

A story about a strong loving family and five sisters and their relationships with the men in their lives and each other. A sweet story about a young man in love with one sister and marrying another in a research project and their discoveries they all make about themselves and each other along the way. Great narration too. I hope Beth Moran writes even more books with the same soul and familial bonds as this one.

Cringey Accents

Love Beth Moran stories. Always a delight, however I am just a few chapters in and debating on whether or not I can even finish the audible version of the story due to how awful some of the accents are. I cringe everytime I hear some of the characters names mentioned because I know the bad accent is to follow. Just takes away from what otherwise is a lovely book with a otherwise good actress reading it.

Love This Author

Loved it. Moran's interaction between characters brings smiles, laughter, happy and sad tears, sometimes righteous indignation for one or many characters. I have enjoyed her books so much I usually end up sleep depraved so I can get to the next few chapters. A good listen for aure.

Just not enough

Jumps too far from one scenario to the next without enough content in between to help you connect with the characters. I wanted to love this book but as hard as I tried, I was constantly disappointed

Engaging book

I enjoyed all the intertwining stories and getting to know the different characters. I loved the fact that i was immersed in the lives of the whole family, and the complexities of the situation stayed, indeed, complex. I adored getting to know Cooper and be able to see things from his perspective. The narrator was tremendous.

Really Cute Story

This was a really fun story. I loved all the characters despite their flaws, and I was genuinely wondering how everything would work out! There was a great twist that I didn’t expect, and I enjoyed it so much! I agree that some of the accents were a little over the top, but it was fine. I was able to let it go and enjoy the story.

Very bad accents!

The actress who performed the book did a great job...EXCEPT her accents for two of the characters were ridiculously bad. The story was cute, although not as endearing as some other Beth Moran books. I'm glad I listened to it overall, but those bad accents kept making me cringe!

twisted

Beth Moran I love your books . you make me want to shout at your books, then you throw in a twist and I can't wait to get to the end and yet not want it to. Thank you.

loved the story loved the characters and especially loved the coverage of M E.such a poorly understood disorder.but not by this author.a senstive anr realastic portrayal of how this invisible disease affects not just the patient, but the whole family .And seamlessly weaved into the story.thanks so much ,this should raise recognition of this disorder and its tenacious effects on peoples carers and their and their families livex

Alright but ending was bit naff!

As a ME sufferer it was nice to see it being wrote about in a book. I have to agree with previous reviews about the naff ending felt bit of a let down after such a good book! If it wasn't for the ending I'd given it five stars.

Liked it until the very end

I partly agree with a previous review... the end of the book made a lot of the story and intrigues in it completely meaningless... Kind of like: Oh, I'm so craving a sandwich... but just to be awkward I'll throw it away when it's done... And it's not like it cave the book any kind of originality or edge... just a feeling of anticlimax...

Beautiful characters, disappointing outcome

Beautiful story, perfect narration
Was so looking forward to got through every chapter and so hopeful for the outcome but thoroughly disappointed by the end.
Felt like the author was in a rush to finish the book and chose the obvious and easy way

A little unsatisfying.

Honestly, I found this book arc pretty depressing! I don’t want to give it away, but if you’re picking this up for a mindless Hollywood happy ending (as I was) then maybe scroll along?

I picked this on the back of the warm fuzzies from Christmas Every Day. Not quite the same vibe!
