Publisher's summary

He’s my ex-boyfriend’s uncle. The man who dropped us off at prom.

And I can’t stop thinking about him.

The plan was simple: I’d blow out of our small town in a blaze of glory, find a job in the city, and start my fabulous life. I was set.

But three years since graduating high school, and I barely have 10 bucks to my name. Life has well and truly kicked my ass, and somehow I wash back up in the town I couldn’t wait to leave.

I guess it’s familiar, even though my parents are long gone. I guess he’s familiar too. Is that why I can’t keep away from Everett Bray?

It’s wrong to want him like I do. Wrong to lay awake at night, longing for him.

But sometimes when I catch him staring, I think...maybe he wants me too.

Take Me Home is a steamy forbidden instalove novella, starring a plucky, down-on-her-luck girl and her off-limits crush.

Everett and Josie: Take Me Home by Cassie Mint

Everett and Josie: Take Me Home by Cassie Mint
I couldn't stop listening til I got to the end. The narrators' performances were both excellent, their (the characters) chemistry palpable. One of my favorite authors, Cassie Mint. Recommend these two narrators. Love this forbidden but yummy romance between a young woman and her highschool exboyfriend's older uncle.

Short, very hot age gap romance vibrantly written

I was captivated by this older man romance (the lady is 21 and the man is 35). The angst level is medium, which is more than I usually enjoy, but the author wrote everything so vibrantly with such a deft touch on the emotions that I couldn’t put it down. The main characters, Josie and Everett, are good people who are very likeable. I felt sympathy for Josie’s situation; she has had a hard time in life. It was good that Everett only started lusting after Josie when she was 19.

This short book is only 2.25 hours long, but it feels like a slow burn with a sudden explosion of passion. The few love scenes are sizzlingly hot, graphic, and full of “dirty” talk. Everything is fully consensual between adults. The characters occasionally say some 4-letter words. I wish that the book had a few more chapters with Josie and Everett’s growing relationship, but it has a very satisfying epilogue with a happily ever after. I hope there will be another book about Harry, Everett’s nephew.

The dual narrators, Isabelle Turner and Xander Marceaux, each gave wonderful performances. Isabelle Turner was very believable as 21-year-old Josie and as the other two characters. Xander Marceaux has a sexy, gravelly voice portraying Everett, and he also was excellently versatile with Josie’s voice. The two narrators exquisitely brought to life the angst, emotion, and the sizzling love scenes in the story. I enjoyed their performance and will look for their other work.
