Flood waters aren't the only dangerous current in the Rockies—Riley Robinson's attraction to the just-passing-through Ana Potrero is immediate and mutual. Some wine, some laughs, some passion—and no strings. Perfect, right?

When Ana proves to be far more complicated, amusing, and appealing than one night could ever fully explore, Riley can't believe she let Ana slip through her fingers. A second chance brings all the intense pleasures of their first encounter, but the realities of dating, distance, ex-lovers, and family could turn sweet, sweet wine into bitter dregs.

Contains mature themes.

There is one thing I can say

I feel that this book was lacking in depth. It was an okay read but I struggled to really invest in the characters and story.

Good

Ok read. Honestly not my fave from this amazing author. Abby Craden did a fab job but I kept moving up the listening speed to get thru the story. I really liked the scenery and Riley. I wasn’t as big of a fan of the part separations and time jumps. I assume it was to give more depth and perspective to Riley but to me it wasn’t needed and almost made me stop reading because I really didn’t care about Lisa. I thought Riley, even with her insecurities and trust issues was portrayed beautifully without needing such in depth backstory involving an ex and a lying and cheating one at that. There was enough story between Riley and Ana that could have been further explored such as Ana’s coming out with her family. I feel like it was more skimmed over along with some other things. I think shorter flashbacks would have been more beneficial for me to read. I love this author and will continue to read many more of their stories!

I love that the author addresses topics and challenges that are faced within the lesbian community with ease. The narration is very good too. I like this author.

What a story… 🥰🥰🥰

One of my favorites from the author! Really love the turns and backstories on this one. It wasn’t as straight forward as I first thought and kept me very interested. Only had an issue or quirk with one part but it was super minor. Overall well worth the listen!!

Love the turns

Usually I love Jamie’s books. This one I did not find very engaging (the story, the characters…) so it took me an effort to finish…

Story

I loved this story but it spent too much time with Riley’s backstory with her exes… So many key themes and issues come together in the last two chapters so it felt rushed and not fully developed. I wanted more at the end. Both Ana and Riley are wonderful characters - broken hearts are tough to recover from but the writer managed them well- frustrating sections worked because they’re based on real issues. It was such bullshit that Riley struggled to get Lisa out of her bed… what the fuck!! How is it that Riley is not able to put Tom in the same place that Lisa is?

Ending was rushed

Good bless the crooked road that led us here- yes, that’s a country song sentiment for a twisty-turnie romance! I often wonder- how is it that characters in romance novels are either super villains or really honorable folks you can take home to Mama, because, for the record, I’ve run into a few who don’t fit either category! The “naughty in-between’s” they are- not quite right to be in an LTR with, not quite honest when it comes to an important lifestyle issue or outright scoundrels that have an occasional redemptive moment, so you can’t write the off completely, and YES- they mess with our mostly sane minds! And you know Jaime, our author, has been there, done this, or she couldn’t write these many shades of grey characters. Well, finally a romance novel that deals with the “naughty in-betweens” and you’re going think- I KNOW these people! Do you want some sapphic spice that’s a little less perfect and sweet?! Well then, use that credit!

Life & Love can be messy! Finally- a REAL romance with lusty fear, fire and forever!

This book is a nice listen once you get over the initial reasoning behind the back and fourth of past and present to bring everything together. I loved Sharon and Janette they are funny. I finished this quicker then I thought I would because it was captivating and made you want to keep listening to the book as well as I really liked the narrators voice. Good listen and great book.

Nice!
