Story
Anna Whitt, daughter of a guardian angel and a fallen one, promised herself she'd never do the work of her father - polluting souls. She'd been naive to make such a claim. She'd been naive about a lot of things. Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school's party girl. And all the while there's Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

Riot Night changed my life. Coming back to Shadow Grove turned it on its head. I’ve been hunted, stabbed, stalked, tormented, and used. Hate fueled me, lies tore me apart, and in the end, everything I thought I knew turned out to be fake. Except...Riot Night also brought Archer, Kody, and Steele back into my life. No matter how much I’ve fought it, hated it, been lied to, or discovered the deceptions - I want them in my life.

great ending to a great series
Would you listen to Sweet Reckoning again? Why?
maybe, the narrator was incredibly annoying gasping after EVERY sentence.
How could the performance have been better?
she could've spoken normally like in the first two books
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
really sweet ending
Any additional comments?
This narrator was amazing for the first two books but in this one she gasps after every single sentence. It was very distracting.

Narration irritating, great story
Where does Sweet Reckoning rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
One of my favorites
What did you like best about this story?
Everything! Wrapped up everything nicely * sigh *
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
Normally I like this narrator a lot, and most of her performance is amazing. But in this book, she gasps after each sentence. It is extremely irritating and distracting.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Many moments in this book moved me. Hard to pick just one...but the last scene was the most endearing.

Unforgivably Pointless Waste of Time
The only reason I didn’t return Sweet Reckoning was so I could at least have the satisfaction of giving it a one-star review.
After supporting the trilogy from the beginning I am so utterly appalled by this anti-climactic final instalment I urge everyone to not waste their time or money.
Turns out ridding the world of demons is so simple that Anna didn’t even break a sweat!
I estimate the yawn-worthy climax took only 40min of the 10hr+ run time
So what’s Sweet Reckoning actually about?
Sex.
The author is clearly a Stephanie Meyer type – so religiously repressed about sex she had to write three books establishing her protagonists’ undying love and even marry her off just so she could write sex scenes without feeling guilty.
Higgins actually has an angel come down for a post-coital high-five to make it clear this union was totally cool with god.
Yes, the main action of Sweet Reckoning is, literally, Anna finally getting some action.
How many times?
How many ways?
How many places?
Don’t worry - you’ll get all the details you can stomach!
Sure Anna is supposed to be ridding the world of pure demons but there’s sex to be had so she skims the bible on the way to the final show-down and hopes for the best!
There is no planning, plotting or preparation.
No training, scheming or strategizing.
We’ve spent three books leading up to a complete and total non-event!!
Anyone who has read the first two entries would be better off reading some free fanfiction then paying for this mess.
Unforgivable.

Love this book, but...
Okay, this is a totally stupid thing to complain about and it makes me feel like a toddler, screaming because her brother is “breathing to loud” or whatever. I’ve listened to this book so many times and I always love it because it makes me emotional when other books wouldn’t. I always listen to books on at least x2 speed so when chapter one started again I thought it was the speed making her breathing SO UNNATURALLY LOUD! I even slowed it down to try and make it sound, ya know normal, but it’s like she’s using an inhaler after every sentence! I know this is a stupid thing to complain about and I have listened to the book several times so it’s only -1 in performance but Jesus. I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I guess I’ll try to continue the book tomorrow.

Good story - not so sure about the reader...
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
The final chapter in the Sweet triology was good - but not great.
Earlier in the year the end of the Divergent triology left me raging with anger, as it was just THAT BAD. A few weeks ago the ending of the Partials triology left me smiling and happily content. It pretty much tied up all loose ends and had a great finale too.
The end of the Sweet trilogy was, well, meh!. I'd been hoping for so much, but most of the book just seemed to be about sex, sex, sex - and wanting to have sex, sex, sex.
Don't get me wrong, the very last chapter ALMOST had me in tears, but I'd loved these characters sooo much over the years that ANY sentimental stuff would have set me blubbing.
To put it in a nutshell: Too much sex, too little time spent with/on the demons. From book one I had expected an epic WAR between heaven and hell - huge, intense, all-encompassing.
Sweet Reckoning didn't have a war. It didn't even have a Harry Potter meets Voldemort. It just had a party in a nightclub with a few naughty clubbers....
Good, but not great.
ALSO: The reader on this audio book was pretty much awful. She sounded so choked up with emotion at some points that I thought she was having an asthma attack. There was literally a gargle from her during one dramatic scene - surely that could have been edited out?
Who was your favorite character and why?
Kai - great hero/anti-hero.
What didn’t you like about Erin Mallon’s performance?
The reader on this audio book was pretty awful. She sounded so choked up with emotion at some points that I thought she was having an asthma attack. There was literally a gargle from her during one dramatic scene - surely that could have been edited out?
If this book were a film would you go see it?
No

Baby Girl
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I recommend the series in general Anna is strong yet a goodie goodie i know some people can't stand that and yet the love interest she is paired with is the total opposite yet brings out a "different side" to her . The Nephilim in the series are raised differently based on their sin so naturally they are going to hate their parents for treating them badly
What was one of the most memorable moments of Sweet Reckoning?
Plane wedding and honey moon?
Which scene did you most enjoy?
“Halfway through the meal, while we were all laughing and telling stories, I made the mistake of placing my hand on Kaidan's upper thigh without thinking.
He let out a groan loud enough to silence the room. I slipped my hand back into my own lap, and Kaidan cleared his throat.
"Wow," he said. "The corn pudding is fantastic."
I snorted, which started a round of snickers. Patti smiled at Kaidan like he was a precious boy.
"Isn't it good? Anna found the recipe a few years ago. She's a great cook."
"Mm-hm." Kaidan gave a tight-lipped smile. "That she is.”
