Publisher's summary

I don't like to be touched. I'm the hacker-geek-goddess of the FBI. When I'm hiding behind my screen, I'm a safe distance from everyone; isolated, powerful. No man has ever touched me, but when I'm captured by Colombian drug lord Andrés Moreno, I no longer have the right to refuse. He's scarred and scary, and his cruel brother Cristian has tasked him with breaking me. I try to fight, but I can't escape his strong arms and harsh discipline. He demands that I accept his touch, and my virgin body can't help but respond to his masterful manipulations.

The longer I remain trapped with him, the more I come to suspect that I'm not the only captive in his brother's home. Andrés' scars go deeper than the wicked furrows carved into his flesh, his pain reflected in the dark demands he imposes upon me. His obsession is twisted and wrong, but maybe I'm twisted, too.

Do I want to be rescued from him? Or is he the one who truly needs saving?

Dissapointing

I hate stories about women who are supposedly smart but equally dumb. I like a good captor and prisoner story but not when the prisoner gives into sexual satisfaction in 1 day. Sexual release does not cloud ones judgement that much that quickly. It's absurd. I understand the woman maybe being forced to experience pleasure but that should in no way impede her judgement. This was not good, sorry.

Taboo but not to dark

I really enjoyed this Audio. This is a new narrator to me and it took me a moment to get used to her voice. She has quite a purr to her voice that I’m not used to hearing. I do believe she did a good job, she pulled off the scared and terrified aspects of the character as well as the strong and fierce ones. The story was well written. Definitely a sexy, taboo, kidnapping but still find love story. I liked how the author worked in aspects from Samantha‘s childhood they gave the story more depth. It was hot but I do not feel it was a dark romance. If you like the kinky and taboo but can’t handle the dark this is a great audio. It does not cross lines although they are mentioned in the story that I consider to be in the category of dark. The bonus story was perfect. I love the narrator who performed Andrés. The accent brought the character even more to life for me. I almost wish the whole book was dual narration. Both narrators have very sexy voices. I look forward to hearing more from this author.

Really enjoyed Sweet Captivity

This was a HEA captive story. Please be aware of that before you read. Andres was such a "good" captor. I don't want to give any spoilers, but you really felt for him and are really happy they get their HEA! My issue with the book, is that Joe Arden is listed as a duet narrator and HE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A SINGLE WORD IN THE ENTIRE BOOK. I prefer duet stories so that along with it being Joe made me get the book. He needs to be removed from the book, very misleading.

all sex no story

I was disappointed that Joe Arden didn't read until bonus feature at the end. Aside from that, this had a lot of sex and BDSM and little to no story line. If you are looking for a nice romance story, this isn't it.

Where was joe

I listened to the entire thing all the way to the end and I never heard Joe Arden not even once! There was no preview for the next book on my audio version. I’m highly disappointed.
Now for the book, I’m not really sure how to describe my feelings. I like Lucy but absolutely hated her voice for Andres. It was not very good. I am Hispanic so I can say that her “Columbian accent” was crappy. It was distracting. I hate that I have to buy a separate book to hear the male POV. I’m not convinced on the validity of this book. I read the first book and absolutely loved it. Stealing beauty was a complete story that made sense. This book felt unbelievable in a bad way. Not worth my credit

Holy hotness

This book has a lot of hot sex scenes and the story is good. I do wish the author had made the story longer and had more action scenes with Samantha and andres brother present. I also wished the author showed more of Samantha’s skill set. All in all if you are looking for a hot romance this book is it!

NOT sweet. VERY dark.

SWEET CAPTIVITY is a full length novel told entirely from the heroine’s point of view and narrated by Lucy Rivers. CLAIMING MY SWEET CAPTIVE is now available separately on Audible and told entirely from the hero, Andres’, point of view narrated by Joe Arden.

SWEET CAPTIVITY made me uncomfortable. There is nothing sweet about it. The heroine, Sam, is a newbie FBI Field Agent (but has been in the FBI for some time prior as a “hacker geek” agent). She is kidnapped and subjected to terror and sexual initiation at the hands of a Colombian criminal, Andres. She is leashed, and sexually objectified and humiliated. I did not like any sex element of the story.

Narrator Lucy Rivers is wonderful. She performs all the voices including the Colombian criminal brothers, one of whom is Andres. I thought her accents and voice characterisations were great. But I was torn. The way she spoke was erotic, but at the same time, my skin crawled because of this: I just can’t connect with the Stockholm Syndrome-style ‘love’ story as it is fundamentally not love to me, but a psychological survival mechanism. It’s a style of story I’ll avoid in future. Way too dark for me. However, I know other readers love this style of story.

If you like the mind-twisting darkness of such stories, you will love this. There is a twist to this story which should have made me sympathise with Andres more, but by the time the information was revealed I was past caring for him. I think the information should have come sooner. More forgiving readers will see Andres as a tortured, protective and loving hero. And compared to his sadistic brother, he is. I just could not find this story romantic or see the couple as sharing true love. So this is definitely for lovers of very dark storylines.

Good, but narration info is wrong

Joe Arden was not anywhere on this audio book, which was disappointing, as that was a big selling point for me

Wildly Inconsistent.

The book is anything but stable in several areas. The lead heroine is weak and utterly unbelievable in ‘acts’ I & I. She becomes a somewhat good character in Act III but is still unbelievable. The plot is bare thread and just enough to move the story along. Although I listened to the entire book, I wish I hadn’t. I’d pass on this book; there are better out there.

Miscategorized Erotica

Do my eyes deceive me, or is this categorized under 'Mysteries & Thrillers > Psychological'?

Obviously, by the cover and the synopsis, I was expecting a romance, but, upon listening, I didn't think 'Romance' would be a fitting category, either. I say this even as one who thoroughly enjoys graphic sex scenes in romance novels, but this book was straight up erotica. The sex scenes surpassed the plot...by a lot; in fact, the plot was basically a mere suggestion--just enough story to connect the series of near-constant sex scenes.

On the other hand, as erotica, it does its job (though, honestly, BDSM isn't really my thing in any case). Had I downloaded this title with the intention of downloading erotica (not that I would ever waste my precious credits on erotica), I would not have been quite this disappointed.

The characters scarcely earned an ounce of my interest, or my emotional investment; they, too, were secondary to the real agenda: the sex. I did not fall head over heels for the hero, who was really just a psychologically damaged, control freak, with no respect for women, in general, and for the heroine, in particular. Frankly, I'm not sure how any woman would be attracted to him. I didn't like the heroine at all. That she is supposed to be an FBI agent is truly laughable...not even remotely plausible. Overall, she is spineless and pathetic.

To buy into their 'love story', one must accept Stockholm syndrome as an acceptable dating technique. Also, in the arena of BDSM, I'm pretty sure this story breaks all the rules. BDSM and overpowering someone under duress are two entirely different things.

Nonsense

This was a load of rubbish. The heroine was just really un-likeable and the story line was complete nonsense. Narrator had a really weird inflection to her voice. It could have been so much more. I have no problems with the writing style it just needed a bit more depth for me. Someone else might love this book.

Not great

This story was too long, should of had 10 chapters less. Samantha was annoying and definitely suffering from Stockholm syndrome. The ending was rushed and would of been nice to have less sex and mind control using sexuality and more story. I wouldn’t recommend this book.

Sexual assault is never ok.

When I red the synopsis, I was intrigued. I have red few dark books with stories that have sat a bit uncomfortable and been balancing on a bit messed up, but I decided to give this story a shot.
This book is definitely wrong on so many levels.
The main character basically was sexually abused repeatedly by a man she ends up falling in love.
When No is said repeatedly, but the other person ignore and proceed with sexual act, there is only one way to look at it.
Author tried to justify the assault, with the fact that she orgasmed. Really?
Supposedly its impossible for a female to be aroused or even orgasm if she is truly terrified according to a psychologists.
Story had great potential but I failed to see past the sexual abuse.
Hard pass on anything else written by this author.

Not that dark but still a good story

I enjoyed the book. However, I didn’t find it very dark at all. Sam may have been abducted but she was never really tortured and everything that happened was kind of with consent, It’s more like a BDSM training instead of real dark romance. I enjoyed it as it was somewhat like 50 shades on steroids but it really lacked darkness.
The narrator was good but her male voices were lacking and her Latino accent was not good at all.

A fantastic story. The narrators were brilliant.

I enjoyed every single word of this story. It had some content that was a bit disturbing to me but I had to keep reminding myself that it was a story. It drew me in so completely, I could feel the anguish, pain, sexual tension and several other emotions of the characters. 😢 This story will definitely keep you glued to the pages.

predictable and damaging

thought this story would be different to the general romance that comes from captive storyline. however, as the main character appears to be self aware in the beginning of the book and repeatedly mention that it is probably Stockholm syndrome and the fact that the man rap3s her repeatedly in the book that she wouldn't fall for him, but she does.

I really like dual perspective and Lucy rivers was good but her voice needed to be broken up not just literally but in the context of the story.
