Publisher's Summary

The premise of this book is that learning to let go of anger - and ultimately forgiving the offender - will transform the foundation of every kind of relationship we have. Stanley defines anger as "a strong feeling of intense displeasure, hostility, or indignation as a result of a real or an imagined threat or insult, frustration, or injustice toward yourself or towards someone who’s very important to you." Building on this defintion, Stanley...

  • Helps listeners identify the signs of anger, so they can identify anger in themselves.
  • Reveals the far-reaching consequences of anger, which encompass the spiritual, emotional, and physical.
  • Teaches listeners how to handle anger through thirteen concrete steps.
  • Walks listeners through the steps to true forgiveness and the healing power it brings.

With compassion and a wealth of biblical understanding, Stanley explains that the measure of a person is "the size of thing that makes them angry." He goes on to distinguish between healthy and harmful anger and reminds us that "righteous indignation" is a divine emotion.

However, he skillfully explains that misguided anger eats away at ourselves, our relationships with others, and our relationship with God. By helping listeners look honestly at the source of their anger, he gently leads them to the ability to truly forgive and find the peace they seek.

NOT JUST ABOUT ANGER

This book is methodical. It teaches life principals about how to properly control your emotions and actions. Believe it or not it isn't just about anger, but also about forgiveness and reconciliation. Very inspirational as well.

Thank you Charles!

My father blessed me with introducing me to Dr. Stanley with "Molding The Clay" My father is home in heaven now and I am forever thankful for every word and teaching by Dr. Charles Stanley. I wish he had more audio books concerning healing from hidden emotional abuse & pain especially by narcissistic spouses who was praised in my church and they didn't know who they were really praising because he was a large financial donor. I was left by my church after divorcing this man who still attends the church with new wife and I have only my faith, scripture my Lord & Dr. Stanley's teachings to lean on and try to heal with.
