Publisher's summary

With no help in sight, could you make the hard choices?

After risking everything, Grant and Leah Walton are finally reunited. But it's no happy ending. As the reality of the situation dawns on their neighbors, the Waltons find themselves the subject of more than idle curiosity.

Not everyone can be trusted. People they counted as friends now look at them with suspicion and fear. Faced with neighbors determined to take all they have, Grant and Leah prepare to leave. But strangers have other plans.

If someone threatens all that you hold dear, could you fight back?

In a world without enforcement, rules mean nothing. When a band of thieves turn a neighborhood disagreement into an all-out war, Grant and Leah must find the strength to not only fight, but survive. Not everyone will make it.

The attack is only the beginning.

great book

Harley Tate delivers yet another great book in this genre. Tate is quickly becoming one of my favorites. If Harley reads these, all I ask is that you dont l wa t the main characters get so banged up. Holy $#!+ are these people tough.

Love Does Conquer All:)

Narration was well done(soothing voice). As apocalyptic stories go, I liked the storyline. Well-written! Wish the characters had a little more time for respite. Just hope in the real apocalypse, there are more good people than bad people!

Terrific series!

The writing is interesting and concise. The story is both interesting and suspenseful. Will definitely listen to this one again.

Realistic situations

I like that the possibility of that situation exists. I also like that the main characters are not superheroes, but seem like average people with lots of moxie. Great read!!

You know it's great book when it saddens you to reach the end! I definitely look forward to the next book in this series!
I offer my gratitude to the author for an extremely well written and narrated series of books that I have thoroughly enjoyed listening too. Thanks for all that you do to produce such books as these!

Riveting story line

Listen to first three books in about six days. Really enjoy them from the text itself to the people who read. Recommend high.

Eh. Became the same story as many others in book 3.

In a previous review I mentioned how I liked the fact that the story wasn't going into the same old tropes as every other series in this genre, with massive violence and killing and kidnapping and injuries that no person could possibly survive and so forth and so on. Unfortunately that changed in this book and I'm disappointed. Also, I really don't like the male narrator seems like female voices are condescending and his male voices frequently sound kinda drunk. Plus, this series is called "Southern grit" but there ain't no southern accents to be had!
