Publisher's summary

They’re entering the storm - and only together will they survive.

Spring is around the corner, and the Healys must again face Canada’s mountainous onslaught to reach the security of the hunting cabin. Though they were forced to give up the family’s ranch to the post-apocalyptic mob, the most important thing to Greg Healy now is that they still have the cattle and the family is all together safe and sound. But just as the end of their grueling trek is within sight, the spring thaw brings unending trouble.

And heartbreaking tragedy.

The burden of leading loved ones falls hard on Darryl Healy’s shoulders as he confronts his most daunting task yet - becoming a father. But the trail is an unforgiving master, not fit for man, woman, or beast, and the cattle have proven time and again to be an irresistible draw to those determined to take everything the Healys have left.

When a vicious new enemy follows in their wake and guns are drawn in the avalanche-prone pass, Darryl is forced to defend and protect his family just as his father and grandfather taught him.

By any means necessary.

Prepper survivalist author Grace Hamilton invites you to step into a post-apocalyptic, EMP-ravaged world filled with strong, resourceful characters, survivalist knowledge, and edge-of-your seat action.

Best one yet!

Lots of action and fast paced. This was the best of the series. Absolutely loved it! Great series of family and survival in a time where you can only trust those closest to you.
It was great watching the family grow and adapt.
As usual Andrew Tell did an great job narrating.

If not for bad luck, no luck at all!

At the close of the prior volume, Survive the Attack, the Healy family was driven out of their home on the threat of death by James Tiegan. The Healy’s packed what belongings they could in the wagon and the remaining cattle, heading out for the family hunting cabin in the mountains. Unfortunately, they did not make it through the pass before winter snow closed it. It’s now spring, and the family is anxious to get moving once again. The trek may be difficult, if not dangerous, not only for the wagon but the cattle have to be driven through the pass as well. To complicate matters further, Justine was very pregnant. They encountered numerous problems as they fled, not the worst being a flash flood, and a group of persistent raiders. Unfortunately, not all would survive the journey. Those that did would face a difficult challenge, but they were alive. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Great characters but too contrived

There's so much contrived violence in this story, feuled by illogical decisions and unreasonable actions. And it's unbelievable that they always seem to have what they need despite the fact they couldn't possibly pack it all on their journey.

But the characters are compelling and Andrew Tell voices them distinctly with his excellent narration. This is pretty typical post-apocalyptic fiction.

Fumbling bumbling survivors aren’t very interesting

I’m not a fan of idiot survivors that keep making the same mistakes all the while repeatedly questioning their instincts. How this family could survive a post apocalyptic world is my question. None of the characters were particularly likeable or interesting and the only reason I finished this series is my own ocd instincts. I don’t think I’ll be buying any more from this author unfortunately. Save your money and look elsewhere.
