Good read.

Twins Dana and Sarah were kidnapped, but Sarah manages to escape. Desperate to get help and go back to rescue Dana, she goes to the nearest person she knows, Meredith, a work college whom she doesn't particularly like. She soon realises that something weird is happening.... the dead are walking. She also realises that Meredith was dealing with something herself, she had cancer and had just finished her last treatment. Meredith also didn't know the dead are walking! It's up to both of them to get back to Dana and rescue her before it's too late.

This was a really good short story. It's only about and hour and a quarter long, but it packs a lot into it. This focuses on the girl and their desperation to save Dana, rather than the zombies. I'm looking forward to seeing where thee author takes this and whether we see a lot of zombie action or if it will be solely focused on the survivours. This is well written and developed, the characters are likable and interesting and it made me eager to see what happens next, so all in all a great read.

Lisa L. Wiley was ok. She was easy to listen to and was able to keep my attention, but she read this a little flatly. Her tones were too similar for the female characters and she didn't bring the atmosphere to life. I wanted her to capture Sarahs desperation more!!

I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts

Roller coaster trip through Zombie land

Swift moving chapter in a series format. I enjoyed this horror tale but would have liked to know the beginning, onslaught of the Zombie crisis. This first chapter started already in the grip of the deadly creatures roaming and ruling the city. Hopefully the subsequent chapters will go back to explain the HOW and WHY.

The story is nicely developing the group of characters, the survivors. I am looking forward to the next episode.

The narrator did a good job with the different characters' voices and personalities.

Loved It! Great Beginning

This is the first book by Rhonda Hopkins that I have read and I am impressed. This is a great start and I hope to see this story continue. The characters are well developed with room to grow and the story has the potential to go anywhere. Sarah is a strong and capable survivor, who will do what it takes to save and protect her love ones. This could be anyone put in that situation, which is why we could easily relate. I love zombie tales and even though this only barely hinted at that it open my imagination. What could be. I look forward to reading more by this author.

More to fear than zombies

Hopkins does a great job of giving the reader enough detail and background to make sure we empathize and care for the characters. How will a set of twins, a cancer patient, 2 kids, and a couple of deputies survive as well as find loved ones in a sudden zombie filled world? I am interested to see how Dana and Sarah and the others survive. How long can they keep their new home safe?

A great story about a sick-ass woman

When a zombie apocalypse hits Fort Worth, Sarah and her twin are kidnapped by three men who threaten to feed them to zombies. Sarah escapes and desperately seeks a way to save her sister. A quick story about rivals coming together to save loved ones. Great performance. Recommend.

Too Graphic For Me

This was a 7 chapter book about a zombie apocalypse. I really don't read/listen to these kinds of books but it was a free audio book offered to me and I listened to it while I drove doing errands and putting things away when I got home. The narration was good and the author was very descriptive in her book. I don't think I want to read more books like this but I know there are people who really like reading books like this and they will like this one.

Twins vs. Zombies & bad guys

Twins Sarah and Dana have been abducted at the beginning of the Zompoc. How bad can your luck be?

I enjoyed the story with a strong, take no prisoners female MC. Add in a snooty co-worker who happens to have cancer and a couple of kids and this makes for an interesting take on the Zompoc genre.

I liked the fact that Ms. Hopkins added in a new element (at least for me) of how a person who has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy might fare during this type of event. Most books never touch on what might happen to the disabled and terminally ill when the SHTF.

This was a quick read but kept me engaged and entertained through it all. The narrator did a great job and added to my enjoyment of the book. I look forward to continuing this series to see what happens to these characters!
