Sunny is challenged by a childhood friend to discover the cause behind damage done to docks along Lake Burton's Greenwood Cove, and she's never one to resist a challenge when monsters are involved.

Book 2, The Deep Wood:
Sunny’s search for a monster terrorizing the county leads her into a past she never knew, and a secret that changes everything.

Book 3, Cemetery Hill:

Not What You Expect... So Much Better

This is definitely not my normal genre. Still, this story drew me in and kept asking for more. The narrator brought this to life in amazing ways but the story being told is just so real.

This one is a must listen and a three in one deal to boot. Can't go wrong here.

Old Country

I loved the storytelling caught myself laughing which was not good as husband wasn't listing had ear Phone as he tried to sleep. If you love perfect tremor not a book for you but the reader nailed the old fashioned backwoods well.hah spooks and panters old Cherokee medicine women. But not scary if you are looking for a scary book. PS misspell panthers on purpose that's how it's said in book . Oh yea this book was a free listen for a honest option and after Facebook from the age of 11 if I don't like on don't even finish it

on the fence

when I read the description about this series I was on the fence because it didn't sound like something I would normally listen and/ or read; but I'm glad I decided to give it a try. The story itself was pretty good but honestly the narration really added so much more.

Narration was great, Sunshine was worth credit

I have both Audible and Kindle. The narrator does such a great job with the cadence, inflection and pacing. I found myself going back to listen to the parts I read. I found the accent to be genuine and was able to relax into the books. The books themselves have dark storylines with friendship and family consistent through all. Sunshine is a very likeable character. She is strong, self reliant and flawed. She is her own worst critic. The building relationship with Riley is believable.
I enjoyed all three books. I feel this was worth my credit. I am happy to find both the author and narrator.

Wonderful storyline with endearing characters!

I just loved these books Sunshine has grown on me over time. I lover her tenacity and appellation charm. At first I wasn’t sure about the accent but was soon swept up on the stories. These are slow moving with the majority of action at the end of each book. Her romantic interest Rylie is also a slow developing and romantic relationship. I wish she would stop being so self punishing as my only complaint is her always putting herself down. But with each book she grows a little stronger. This is a storyline I wouldn’t normally follow because I like deeper more complex story. However, this has found a special place in my heart as I have grown to love the characters. This is a series I intend to keep reading.

Enjoyable series

Sunshine Walkingstick hunts the monsters others dont quite believe in. She has a trsgic past and is slow to trust that someone like Riley could truly care for her.

Not my Usual Read But.....

I confess, this is not my usual type of read but I am so glad I was gifted this free copy. This is a great story, Sunshine and I could be friends cause Rebecca Winder makes her sound like home. Shes a spitfire and a handful. I am from the deep south and havent heard such a drawl in a long time but it was still nice to hear. Now we never called panthers, painters well least not in my neck of the woods but that kind simpleness like biscuits and gravy, canned jellies and moonshine are real and I know cause I come from such a place myself. Rebecca pulled off that accent like a pro too which aint easy to do so she gets a lot of props for that-un. Celia Roman did a fabulous job of blending reality with fiction which is important in a good book because its relatable and enough believe-ability to engage your mind. I will be listening to more of Sunshines adventures for certain. To the rest of ya, yall need to read these books now ya hear :)

great series

This three book collection was a great binge worthy listen. The narration was excellent and the story engaging. The main character has a hard Appalachian accent that might take some getting used to for those that haven't heard it before.
