Publisher's summary

Sometimes the happiness we’re looking for has been there all along....

Adele and Justine have never been close. Born 20 years apart, Justine was already an adult when Addie was born. The sisters love each other, but they don’t really know each other.

When Addie dropped out of university to care for their ailing parents, Justine, a successful lawyer, covered the expenses. It was the best arrangement at the time, but now that their parents are gone, the future has changed dramatically for both women.

Addie had great plans for her life but has been worn down by the pressures of being a caregiver and doesn’t know how to live for herself. And Justine’s success has come at a price. Her marriage is falling apart despite her best efforts.

Neither woman knows how to start life over but both realize they can and must support each other the way only sisters can. Together they find the strength to accept their failures and overcome their challenges. Happiness is within reach, if only they have the courage to fight for it.

Set in the stunning coastal town of Half Moon Bay, California, Robyn Carr’s new novel examines the joys of sisterhood and the importance of embracing change.

I loved it!!

From the preview of the book, I wasn’t sure if this was going to be a good story, but it didn’t take long to see that it was really GOOD!! It kept me listening more than I thought it would and I loved how the sister’s relationship grew so strong.
The character Justine was so lost her in life with horrible husband. I loved how she stood up to him finally and his bad luck was well deserved. Addie’s story was really sweet too.
I love the way Robyn Carr writes her books and Therese Plummer is WONDERFUL as always.

Triggering

I finished the book. It was ok. It definitely wasn’t my favorite. Some of the plot points may be triggering if you’re dealing with unresolved trauma. Infidelity, abuse, family-of-origin issues, etc. But if you enjoy a story about strong women overcoming tough situations, you might enjoy this.

Sunrise on Half Moon Bay

I truly love this audiobook, and I am so excited that Addie is getting married to Jake, her very best friend in the world. And Scott, divorced his wife and ended up in an abusive situation. Men do get abused as well. I am so glad that Joycelyn is dating Logan. Maybe one day they will get married.

Good Story

I really enjoyed this book for the most part..

It is a story about two sisters who come to terms with problems in their lives. They also find a friendship they never had due too age difference.

The story lost a star because of the twist that was added to make the older sister's cheating husband appear as if he was taken advantage of by his new girlfriend. Granted he did not deserve what happened, but he is in no way the wronged party because he decided to cheat and didn't vet the woman better. He cheated!

Light listen

Predictable, but kept me interested. Good beach read. Or guilty pleasure escape book for a rainy afternoon.

Loved this story!

The sister’s were wonderful; very realistic. I have not read Robyn Carr before; I will read more of her stories. It didn’t hurt that Ms. Plummer narrated it; I simply love her voice.
