About this listen
Tiffany and Mike DuPree purchase a historical mansion. Tiffany is enchanted by its Victorian architecture and immense rooms filled with hidden nooks and crannies and by the mysterious fragrance of jasmine. Is it only in her mind or is there magic in these four walls that will enhance their years together and breathe more life into their marriage? Mike is a good husband, but in the 20 years since they wed, she’s not sure if his love is as strong as hers. Tiffany longs for him to cherish her and add more romance to their marriage, and senses the mansion is the perfect home to achieve it. Even though Tiffany is already a partner in a consignment business and Mike works long hours as a mechanic in his father’s garage, they open Sunbrook Mansion Bed and Breakfast.
Tiffany takes on the job of proprietor. She hires Grace, a witty, opinionated, but excellent assistant. Their many guests include sports fans, anniversary and honeymoon couples, business travelers. Some who are a pleasure to receive and others that Grace says, wear out their welcome as soon as they walk through the door. The business grows, although Mike and Tiffany know it will take years to see a profit. Then the furnace breaks, and the estimates to replace it are huge. Tiffany panics, fearing what will be the next to go.
The large house begins to deplete their savings.
Will the financial stress cause Tiffany and Mike to grow apart?
Will they lose Sunbrook? Soon Tiffany and Grace discover there is more to Sunbrook than meets the eye, but are wary of telling Mike about the unexplainable strange occurrences accompanied by whiffs of jasmine aroma. Then one day, while exploring the third floor storage room, Tiffany finds journals written by John Lloyd, the original owner. The journals gradually uncover Sunbrook’s astounding secrets - secrets that send them on a journey of discovery that could transform Mike and Tiffany to the blessings of marriage, love, and life at Sunbrook.

Elle, an accomplished baker, has a recipe for every event in her life. But when she discovers her husband’s infidelity, she doesn’t know what to make of it. Jam, maybe? Definitely jam. Fed up with the stale crumbs of her marriage, Elle revisits past recipes and the events that inspired them. A recipe for scones reminds her of her father’s death, cinnamon rolls signify the problematic courtship with her husband, and a batch of chocolate cookies casts Elle in a less-than-flattering light. Looking back, Elle soon realizes that some ingredients were missing all along.
