Summer is a magical time in New York City and Carrie is in love with all of it - the crazy characters in her neighborhood, the vintage-clothing boutiques, the wild parties, and the glamorous man who has swept her off her feet. Best of all, she's finally in a real writing class, taking her first steps toward fulfilling her dream.
This sequel to The Carrie Diaries brings surprising revelations as Carrie learns to navigate her way around the Big Apple, going from being a country "sparrow" - as Samantha Jones dubs her - to the person she always wanted to be. But as it becomes increasingly difficult to reconcile her past with her future, Carrie realizes that making it in New York is much more complicated than she ever imagined.
With her signature wit and sparkling humor, Candace Bushnell reveals the irresistible story of how Carrie met Samantha and Miranda, and what turned a small-town girl into one of New York City's most unforgettable icons, Carrie Bradshaw.

Featured Article: Sex and the City Character Guide
Sex and the City is an essay collection by Candace Bushnell that forever changed the cultural conversation about womanhood, relationships, and, yes, sex. Bushnell created the column "Sex and the City" for The New York Observer in 1994, and framed it as a humorous take on dating in Manhattan based on her own experiences. If that sounds familiar, you’re on the right track. Yes, it was exactly like the column Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw wrote on the hit television show Sex and the City, which made its dazzling entrance on HBO in 1998 and still hasn't left the pop culture scene.

Yes, if you really want to know how Carrie Bradshaw got started this is a fun story.Who was your favorite character and why?
CarrieIf you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
How Carrie Bradshaw met New YorkAny additional comments?
This was a fun story. I listened to the first book and just had to find out more. The characters were good and the situations interesting. If you really want to know how Carrie Bradshaw got to New York this is a cool way to find out. Samantha was a hoot and I loved Miranda. Some disappointments:
I didn't like that the character Charlotte took too long to come in the picture. This could also be a way to lead into another book though. Keep you hanging right?
There were a few things that were a bit unrealistic like Carrie's love interest. This was just a little far fetched, I was waiting for her to ditch him or him her. The idea that she was seeing someone that was so much older than her and he not know how young she was just seemed dumb. But...it didn't prevent me from listening.
The teacher was a creep, I didn't think this story line was important at all.
All in all this was great. I loved the television series, so it was wonderful to connect with the characters again.
Fun listen!

The book is well written and I thought the narrator did a great job. Just note that even if you were a fan of the t.v. series, you may not be a fan of the book. It was, unfortunately, a bit of a disappointment for me.
I'm not sure I like this Carrie
