Publisher's Summary

Laurie Morgan runs a café in the small seaside community of Mermaids Point, named after the beauties rumoured to live in the waters a few miles off the top of the point. When a hazy image is posted online of what appears to be a mermaid, the café and the village are soon full to bursting with curious sightseers.

The most eye-catching of the new arrivals is handsome author Jake Smith, who has rented a cottage for the summer while he works on his new book. Or so he says. In fact, he is a journalist, burned out and disillusioned with life, whose editor has sent him on a crack-pot hunt for mermaids....

Jake quickly finds himself drawn to village life, and to the gorgeous woman who runs the local café. But he soon suspects there’s trouble lurking beneath the idyllic façade, and when it looks like Laurie’s family might be involved, Jake faces a difficult choice. Pursue the truth, or protect the woman he’s beginning to fall in love with....

Warm, escapist, feel-good and altogether brilliant storytelling from best-selling author Sarah Bennett. Perfect for all fans of Trisha Ashley and Milly Johnson.

An easy listen

I really enjoyed this book mainly do to the performance of the narrator who has a very soothing and comforting voice. I also enjoy any book which offers a glimpse into small village life

beautiful

My first of the 3 Mermaid Point visits.
Love the characters Lorelai and Jacob or Lori and Jake for short.

Its a fun, loveable story, a level of dishonesty, intrigue and mystery.

Love and friendship is key here. Trust is hard to rebuild once broken.

Its well written and the Audible is beautifully narrated.

Looking forward to my second trip to Mermaids Point 👉👈

Not sure if the story is any good

I really couldn’t get into this story because the narrator sounded so disinterested, like she was reading an instruction manual. The story could’ve been great, but I couldn’t power through unfortunately.

Great narrator

This was a nice easy read. It was quite predictable but the narrator read it so well and made it come to life for me.

Lovely listen

A lovely listen not amazing but not bad. The ending felt very rushed, there could have been so much more story substance . It felt like the ending was cut off.

I am relieved it was included as I wouldn't of wasted a credit on this book. The narrator was really good although I had to crank up the listening speed. Only get this book if it is free to listen too!

Not for me

I found the book boring. There is nothing really happening there. I have read reviews and I cannot believe that so many people found very good.

Lovely Story

The story was really nice and the pacing was very good. it never felt like it was rushed, nor did it feel like it was getting stretched.
It had its moments when I was laughing but also times when it left you in suspense. Bit of a spoiler but towards the end it really gets emotional, but has a happy ending.

Good Read

I really enjoyed this book however I was not convinced that his deception was as dramatic as it was made out to be and I found the end a little rushed. Saying that though, I am looking forward to the next in the series
