Educated is a memoir by Tara Westover. It tells the story of her experiences growing up in and subsequently leaving a radical, survivalist Mormon home. Abused by a loved and trusted older brother, Westover struggles for years to escape the cycles of abuse and finally finds her escape through her education. Summary of educated
This book was enlightening about family social dynamics which are amplified in this book because the family, which is the subject of the book, is not mainstream- the story-line was such a confusing mix of love, commitment, fear, abuse, cover up and moving on.

Could have been better
After reading "Educated", I looked forward to reviewing the key points and take-aways. The narrator's accent or dialect was distracting and a couple of words were mispronounced (like the word 'iron'--probably difficult for someone whose primary language is not English). Otherwise, I found this to be a helpful summary of the book. which was excellent!
