Incredible

A must for anyone interested in Biblical origins, and the general mythological climate of the Ancient Near East. Nicely laid out, artistic look and feel, so one sees the poetic nature of the myths. Excellent resource.

Recommended!

If you are curious as to the myths that spawned a number of the books of the Old Testament, here is the book that explains a lot of the disconnects that you may have thought about.

Interesting

Some editorializing but not too much. Would have preferred the stories to be anchored in historical context but it's a decent introduction to a complex era.

Well Done

This audiobook is good if one plans to learn more about Sumerians. One would also be wise to avoid Utu. See you all in An-Ki. Say hello to Francis for me, thanks.

Tell you that when I am finished it but a joy to own. Just to think that this is the seeds from which the Bible grew from?

A beautiful and important book about the Sumerian myths !!! I highly recommend this book to all.

Good Overview

I feel so blessed that the cuneiform has been translated and published in paperbacks. It insightful to learn how people lived almost 6,000 years ago. They were bright, energetic, and responsible. From the few things which have been found in archeology sites, they lived a happy life.

Very Well Done

The book was easy to understand and I very much enjoyed the Sumerian tablets. One, in particular, shows Utu being a badass throwing his light rays all while with one leg stomping an unknown deity.

inaccurate

inaccurate information....to give one example; enlil was not first born to king Anu. prine Enki was. enlil was rightful heir to the kingship because of his mothers mitochondrial blood line. Half brothers. enki was born from a concubine, however was first born.
