Publisher's summary

I'm about to make the seven deadly sins my bitch

See this tattoo across my stomach? Yeah, the one with seven crazy runes. Ignore the pink one on the far right, that's Sarah. I love her, but she's not one of my four. That was a hard lesson to learn.

I tried being loyal to her. Even went to a stinky Succubi Den to get a snack or two just to stay alive. Well, that didn't work out, and now I'm stuck trying to charge some dusty old relic my mother left behind. Turns out there's some crazy destiny tied to my tattoo, which is actually a birthmark and all about the end of the world. Sounds fun, sort of, not really.

I've met rune #1, and he wasn't at all what I'd expected. It wasn't love at first sight. Maybe hate at first sight. Pretty sure he hates my guts. But that's okay, maybe rune #2 will bring him around.

This end of the world stuff is just getting started, and I have a feeling one of my very own sins is the one stirring the pot. The Incubus King, what sin might he be? Lust...my favorite one. Bring it on.

Author's Note: This is a fast-burn reverse harem story. It includes explicit language and sexual situations. Intended for audiences 18 years and older. As this is a series, there will be a cliffhanger.

Great book

I love how the author portrays the succubus and the different aspects of the species. Author also has great flow forward with backstory played in to the mix. Narrator does well reading with a good flow and expression. #AudioBookObsession

Definitely stands out of most

This one started a bit confusing and its fast paced so I did feel a bit lost especially with the constant POV change, but these characters are fun and intriguing enough to string me along the story thou i will say i did feel i needed more character development, to be honest I have the hope the next books give what's missing if anyone decides to take the dive it's a good story.

I enjoyed the narration, but with the change of POV maybe a Male narrator would've made it easier to follow.

Holy Crap!

When I first saw this book, I just knew I was going to like it. But I didn't expect that I would LOVE this so much. I am so excited about this series. I stayed up all night listening to it. It was such a great story. One that I have never heard before, and I read a lot of paranormal/fantasy type stuff. And the narrator was AMAZING. The differences in the voices were perfect. I was so impressed. I love this and I hope there are a TON more books to come!

This book was given to me at my request. I am providing a voluntary and honest review. Thank you AudiobookObsession. You guys always have the BEST audiobooks!

Good but a little confusing

I was just a little bit confused by this book. I like the idea behind it. She's a succubus that needs to connect with her 7 runes. Kind of. I think. She has a tattoo that bleeds and has 7 runes.

There are a lot of characters that we have to get to know in a short amount of time. I enjoyed most of the characters and they the reason I may read the next book.

Okay so I know it doesn't sound like it but I did enjoy this book. I just think it should have been longer and things should have been explained better. I felt like I was dropped in the middle of a first book.

The narration was really good. I felt like she did a really good job getting emotion across.

Really Good

J.R Thorn got me hooked with the Elemental Fae Academy series, it's the first thing I have ever read by her and after that, I was a goner. The next thing I started was the Fae Academy series, and I am currently in the middle of that series (it's currently ongoing) and of course, it's amazing but then I realized that there was a series that predate Fae Academy. Blood Stone series is sort of a prequel to the Fae Academy series, Blood Stone is an origin story to one of the characters from Fae Academy so of course, I had to jump in.

Succubus Sins is the first book in the Blood Stone series, it's a paranormal reverse harem that is told from multiple povs. The story follows Sonya, a conflicted succubus as she comes to terms with who she is and follows her destiny.

Sonya is a great character, she is funny, sassy, strong, and stubborn. She is very complex, Sonya grew-up knowing she was a succubus but she doesn't want to be. Sonya doesn't want to be a killer and that is exactly what happens if she sleeps with a human male however if she doesn't sleep with a male then she doesn't get what she needs to survive. So I can see how she is struggling and it kinda pulls at my heart plus with her feisty attitude I couldn't help but like her.

Sarah is Sonya's girlfriend and to say it's complicated isn't even the tip of the iceberg when it comes to describing their relationship. Sarah is supernatural but doesn't even want to comprehend what it truly means to be a succubus but Sonya tries to be who Sarah wants and it's killing her, quite literally. Sarah may seem sweet on the surface but she is very selfish and I will admit that I didn't like her at all. It took to much for her to finally own up to her part in their relationship and even then I still don't think she quite understands what Sonya went through.

As for Sonya's destiny, she is connected to the seven deadly sins and I am still not sure what is going on with that prophecy but I do know that of the seven four will be her mates. Sonya has met two of the four and let's say it wasn't love at first sight, things are once again complicated and I just wish for Sonya to get the care and love that she is looking for. The two that make an appearance in this book aren't great but I can see the good in them and am excited to see where this relationship is going.

The story is great, the mfc is trying to come to terms with who she is while figuring out what she is supposed to do all the while trying to defeat a known and unknown enemy. Lots of pieces are on the board, but I don't see the big picture yet. I do know everything is leading Sonya to her destiny but I don't know how she's going to accomplish her tasks. I listened to the audio version of this book and the narrator, Lia Holland, did an excellent job of narrating the story.

Succubus Sins is just the start of Sonya's story, filled with crazy supernaturals, a defective detective, and a destiny that Sonya couldn't stop even if she wanted too. With complicated relationships, a powerful piece of jewelry, and some pretty hot backup maybe Sonya can pull it off, I can't wait to start the next book, up next is Siren Sins.

Interesting

A very intriguing story. Personally it's a little slow at times but still very good. Narrator did a wonderful job.

Left me wanting more

This was an interesting story. However, it left so many unanswered questions that now I just HAVE to listen to the next one. :-)

Concept was good

Sonya is a succubus in love with a muse. Unfortunately, the muse is a female, so she can't feed off of her. She's already lost Sarah once and will lose her again if she is unfaithful, so she starves herself to the point of death when she accidentally and desperately feeds on a friend. This leads her on a quest to save him which also leads her on the path of an end-of-the-world prophecy spelled out by the 7 runes of deadly sins tattooed across her stomach.

This could have been so much better. The concept is a good one. The execution is a bit of a mess. It's not cohesive story-telling. It's choppy and not detailed enough where it should be. The characters seem like good people but they are not good to Sonya. Sarah, her lover-muse denies Sonya's nature and places expectations on her that will kill her. One of her men hates succubi on principal, the other is using her for his father's purposes. And his father is the worst. Sonya seems like the only person that puts others above herself which is funny considering how awful she is supposed to be as a succubus.

I do plan to read the next book to see if the guys do better. If not, hot sex doesn't make up for not treasuring their girl. Especially, when the fate of the world might be on her shoulders.

Lia Holland was fantastic. She elevated the character of Sonya, saved Sarah, and brought the entire story to life. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

Great RH book

Sonya has been trying to be loyal to her girlfriend, but as a succubus she needs sexual energy to survive and she just can't get it from her girlfriend. It is putting her life in jeopardy now. Can she please her girlfriend and stay alive at the same time?
This is a great RH, female/female book and quite an original one. If you like reverse harem, you will love this!

A rich fantasy world

This was a rich fantasy world and a fun story that was well narrated. I didn't rate it higher because there was always sooooo much going on that I felt a little lost. When building a new fantasy world I need a little more support as new types of supernatural are introduced and a little more backstory. Overall, the characters where likeable and the story was fun.
