Publisher's Summary

Clay Maxwell is a smart, quick-witted, sex-driven manwhore with the good looks to match. Plenty of women have shared his bed, but only one has ever been constant: Andrea.

Their rules were simple. When they were together, it was just the two of them. When they were apart, anything was fair game. And it worked. For 10 years. But one of them has changed the game....

Clay must decide if his player ways are worth losing the one girl who has always been there.

JUST FOR THE RECORD, IT'S A GREAT STORY!

My first K. A. Linde story, and I really enjoyed it! I haven't listened to the other audios in the series, but this was a great stand alone. I didn't feel lost or if I was missing any background story. The details provided were enough for me to fully enjoy this story.

Some Spoilers;
I really liked KAL's writing style, it's original, and I loved this story is mainly told from Clay's POV. She did a great job creating a plot around two characters who have an unconventional relationship, and builds lots of drama and angst around their rocky journey to their HEA. I liked how Clay's character got a wake call when Andrea ends their relationship. She wanted more, and he was to scared to be in an exclusive committed relationship. He didn't know what he had until it was gone, but he was determine to prove he could be the man Andrea wanted and needed. Their HEA was all the sweeter after everything these two went through.

Joe Arden delivered a stellar performance! I loved how he portrayed Clay! I enjoyed Andi Arndt's performance as well, even if we had to wait till the end to hear her.

Struck From the Record was a fun story, with a great mix of drama, angst, lots of steamy chemistry, and hot sex scenes. I will be keeping my eye out for more stories by K.A. Linde. Another fantastic KU/whispersync deal!

KAL - THE QUEEN OF ANGST, ROCKY RIDES & EPIC HEA's

Clay Maxwell thought he had it so good... he was handsome, charismatic, sexy, successful and a renowned Batchelor Playboy plus he had a 'friends with benefits' relationship with a female friend he'd known forever. He'd known Andrea since they were young and now they liked to play a very different game.... sex with no strings, no expectations and no rules. He thought things between them were going great but one night Andrea called then changed the rules of their game which had some disastrous shocking consequences - both physically painful ones and mentally challenging ones too. The shock changed Andrea.... suddenly she wanted more - but they weren't just on different pages... they were reading quite different books altogether and manwhore Clay Maxwell didn't want to change a thing. However, his life without Andrea in it, turned out to be a cold and lonely place.

Okay he was a real dick to begin with but Clay's slow realizations and subsequent character development was a pleasure to witness as he transformed himself into someone he never thought he'd be... a loving husband. There was a lot of angst, heartache, passion and sex along the way but these two loveable characters fell in love with each other when they were still kids but never ever realized it. It took quite a few shocks, soul-searching, misunderstandings, touching scenes and hurdles to overcome before they would both finally get on the same page.... and what they had at the end of the book was so worth all their struggles.

Worth a credit? Yes, another well written enjoyable and addictive listen from K.A. Linde, told from Clay's POV until the Epilogue, good secondary cast - including updates of Liz and Brady's relationship. Andrea was a strong independent heroine who knew what she wanted and wouldn't settle and Clay was a complex hero who lived his life as the second best son - and they were both vulnerable. K.A.L. put a lot of emotional struggles into this book but there was also humor, sizzles and romance too. Easily a stand alone listen and a great addition to the Record series.

Good read

This book was not as good as the previous ones. It was still a decent read. Clay and Andrea's story was a little boring to me however it was interesting to have the characters from the previous book in this one. The ending was great and probably the best part.

I Really Wanted to Love this Book, BUT I Didn't Even Like It

I really wanted to love this book because I loved, loved, loved the first 3 books on this series but I didn't like this book.

I think it's because I didn't like the heroine when she was introduced in the first 3 books and this book didn't really do much of anything to redeem her character. I found myself hoping the hero would find love with anyone but her. I was disappointed.

But it was good to catch up with some of the other characters like Liz and Brady.

The female gets annoying towards the middle

Double standard. She plays victim. I wanted him to walk. Joe Arden always makes a book worth the listen.

Friends with Benefits to More

This is an add on to a trilogy. A younger brother to one of those main characters. It can be listened to as a standalone book.

Clay has always lived in the shadow of his older brother. He has spent a lifetime trying to get approval from their Dad. He has become a playboy love 'em and leave 'em sort. With one exception, his friend with benefits, Andrea. They met as kids and in college started seeing each other sexually with the understanding they were monogamous when they were together and free to see whoever when they were apart. That worked for many years until suddenly it didn't work for Andrea. She is honest with Clay about her feelings and he doesn't want to change the way things have always been. Will he let Andrea go for good or find out that she means more to him than he thought?

It was alright.

I didn’t like that the narrator is narrating both pov. The story itself is interesting the concept of open relationship is not often explored in books and this is nice eye opener. Joe Arden’s voice is ofcourse sexy!
