Stroke the Flame is the first in a new series, It is an introduction to the world and what happens in it. I think some of the events could have been elaborated more, but the smaller scenes were brief while still giving you all the information you needed to understand what was going on.

I LOVE THIS STORY!

I was given this audiobook to listen to for an honest review. I love a good dragon shifter romance series, and this is a great one. All of the characters emotions seemed very realistic, as well. Unlike other reverse Harlem novels I’ve read/listened to, I felt the men’s emotions in regard to having to share the woman were spot on. A little jealous and uncertain at first, but they begin to grow more comfortable with the idea, and push those emotions aside for their divine mission. I love the whole storyline and I can’t wait to listen to the others! The narrators did a great job as well. 5/5 would definitely recommend!

Steamy!

This was the start to an amazing series. I can't imagine being destined to bond with multiple mates, but that's what our heroine is faced with. The book was well balanced and tells a great story in addition to the romance. I can't wait to read more in this series!

Well Written with Dragons!

I really liked this one. The author does a good job building the relationships between Kira and the men, there is apparent sexual attraction between them but without having total insta love. They're pretty much forced on a quest that will change their lives forever. The story line is exceptionally well written with a little bit of action and a hint of erotica. Plus it's got dragons!

If I'm being really honest, I kind of thought there was going to be a whole lot more sex scenes in the book and was pleasantly surprised that there weren't because it was great without it.

The narration fit really well with this story, Lia does an excellent job narrating Kira. Stephen also did a great job narrating for the most part; however, it was distracting/irritating when he changed his voice to emulate a girl (basically, I didnt like his girl voice).

The author stopped the 1st book of the series in a good spot, it didn't leave you feeling like the first part was incomplete, but you still know there is more to come. I'm super excited for the next one!

Fantastic Start

I'm a big fan of dragon-themed stories, I'm also a fan reverse harem stories so Stroke the Flame ticked both boxes! Our leading lady Kira is a great character, she has spent most of her life hiding and trying to avoid the notice of the five dragons who rule her world. On the eve of her 20th birthday, she is struck by lightning and miraculously walks away unscathed!

Not long after this, she starts to have dreams about four very different men, and is sure that something is coming for her, should she move on and hide again or stay put and face her destiny? When three of these men, all unknown to each other arrive at the inn where Kira has been living and tell her that they were each visited by an Elemental God and told to find her and protect her at all costs she is forced to accept that her life will never be the same. She and they must travel to the temple of each god, and once there she must bond with whichever man was visited by that particular God. Each of our four guys has also been given some of the power possessed by the God who chose them. This power will also be passed to Kira once they have bonded, the guys will then have the ability to change into dragons themselves.

During the journey to the first temple, belonging to the Fire God Kira gets to know her four chose mates better. Jason and Auric both fell in love with Kira very quickly and were happy to be bonded to Kira for the rest of their lives, I loved both these guys, Jason the soldier who had a lover in every town and Auric the nobleman who seemed more interested in books than women before meeting Kira. I also found myself loving Reven, an assassin, who is fighting his fate, Slade, is the dark horse among these men, he was a blacksmith who will do his duty but doesn't want to fall in love with Kira.

During their journey, they face many dangers and I really liked that Kira was strong-willed and able to stand up for herself, as she and her future mates learned how to use the magic they had all inherited. I liked that the guys wanted to protect her but she was not afraid to take up a bow herself and fight alongside them. I liked too that she was able to accept her fate and future with four mates.

I really liked the story and the characters, I also liked that the story was told from multiple perspectives, it was great to know what each character was thinking about everything and not just Kira. I so want to see where the future books take Kira and her men. This book covered the bonding of Kira and Jason and the start of the journey to the next Tempel so there is lots more to come.

I had read this book when it was first released and I did enjoy it but not half as much as I enjoyed listening to it performed by Lia Langola and Stephen Dexter they both brought the characters to life beautifully, each character's personality shone through wonderfully.

I've been an avid reader since I first learned to put letters together and form words! This book was exceptionally well written and the narration! Wow! It's narrated by 5 talented readers and there's not one who lacks anything! This book is the perfect blend of fantasy and romance with hint of erotica! The writer captures your attention immediately and holds it throughout the entire story! I was sitting on the edge of my seat throughout! My husband enjoyed the benefits too, even though he was unaware...lol! It's hot and steamy, filled with action, and the characters are so well developed you would swear you knew them. I HAVE to have the entire series! It's a must!! I'm so excited about this book that if I keep going I'll write a whole book about how great it is, so you'll just have to get it for yourself.

Correction! There are TWO NARRATORS!! That's how awesome they are!!

Strike the Flame

This is my first time reading and listening to this author and "WOW" it blew me away. The voices of the characters are incredibly intense. They definitely paint a great picture of what is happening.

I loved the story line! The characters were well written and I loved listening to the narrator.

Stroke my ears

This is my first Elizabeth Briggs listen . This is great listen , it’s a reverse harem , dragon story . Liked how she took the four elements and not only with the dragons but with the elements gods .
Heroine is Kira . Hero is her four mates .
Once Kira turned eighteen, she saw an old women approach her , Kira didn’t know what to think of it There was a thunder, wind, rain and earthquake surrounding her . The old lady says some words to Kira and then Kira can’t believe it , the old lady disappeared.
Once back at her best friends tavern , after a while four men appear before Kira and that is where she learns that the four men are her mates chosen by the gods . Grab it and see who were chosen. The first Temple that needs to be visited is the fire temple . That is where Kira needs to mate with her first mate. There was trouble going there grab it and see what trouble

Lia Langola and Stephen Dexter were fantastic telling this story . They did the emotional part of a.l the characters great

I loved this story! wonderful characters coming together on what appears to be an impossible quest! all of them different but no less sexy for it. Great world building!

Nice story

Interesting story, read really nicely by the lector. I can’t wait to find out what happens next 😊 If you like fantasy-romance this is book for you

Strong continuation

This series is twisting me up, it’s only just started and the characters are incredible, the world is so well detailed and the chemistry is brilliant. Sometimes with RH I have found that the males can seem washed out as characters and kind of blend together. This is not the case here each clearly has their own characters and it shines through. Absolutely fantastic so far

Really good

This is the first fantasy book that I read from Elizabeth Briggs. I really enjoyed it, in some points I think it was a bit predictable, but overall I thought it was a fun read. The world building is really good! I liked the characters very much, and tha narrators are great, allowing us to distinguish the characters easily. I'm going to start the next one right away :D

Slow burn...... for now.....

I really enjoyed this... Kira has a rich and interesting back story and it's established very early that she has skills and knowledge and is capable of looking after herself. The world building was really seamless in this book. The first in a series is usually about establishing everything and this was definitely done but it was woven into the larger plot arc which was fantastic. I love that she met all of her mates in the first book so we get to know them from very early on in the series, and that there is an action packed wider plot.

In fact the only thing I didn't like is sheer preference - I prefer a slightly faster burn than this

I really enjoyed this first book in the series I’m hoping we’ll see more of the relationships developing between the characters in the next book which I have loved in this book and the continuing background to the characters too. I love that you have different points of view to the characters so see things from different perspectives. It’s not such a fast paced book but this being the first book I’d imagine the further in the series the more trouble and plot twists they’ll get involved in will develop too. The overall world building is pretty cool and has a few nice little details I’ve rather enjoyed.

The male narrator has one of the male voices sounding rather female, even the female narrator has him sounding more manly than him. Nice he has four males sounding different which is obviously difficult but a little bit odd at times!

Looking forward to getting stuck into book number two soon!

Stroke the flames is the first book in this series about people, dragons, elementals and gods. In lands that are not safe. Kira has been trying to servive but as of her 20th birthday things at going to change. She dreams of four men and to her surprise a month later they are turning up claiming to have been sent by the gods too be her mates and they are too be the next five dragons to replace the existing ones that are ruling and terrorising the the lands..... If they last long enough. Jason, Auric, Reven and Slade all are very different people with different history's. This book is focuses on all of them and the bonding of the first mate. Does go into some details when they do mate but the book is mostly about the story. I enjoyed the audio a lot as it has a female and a male narrator for the different parts each character is telling the the story from either Kira or from one of the mens view point. I am looking forward to the other books.

interesting story

would have loved if it wasn't that much of a slow build. hope things will pick up pace in the next one.

I enjoyed it

If you enjoy YA RH fantasy books, you'll enjoy this one and you can never go wrong listening to Stephen Dexter.

Book one sets up the world and adventure nicely and I hope that means the next book will focus more on building the MC's relationship with her mates. I had a hard time believing everyone just accepted their fate (which is probably why Reven is my favourite). Though if a god gave me powers and told me what to do, I might go along with it as well.
