Overall Good Story, Feisty characters!

I haven’t listened to or read any of the other titles in this series and this is my first time reading a book by K.A. Merikan. It was a good book, different than what I’d normally read. More violence, but a lot of steam and self discovery. Once getting into the story and wanting to know what happens with Leo and Zolt. It makes me happy to see Leo as sweet and desiring true love.. discovering his true desires. Zolt is just hot and dirty. Exhilarating and Entertaining

Wow, this is truly , a thrilling , fun , non stop , exhilarating and seriously hot AF story , I enjoyed listening/reading.

Wyatt Baker is a new to me narrator. His dramatic , a times OTT , exuberant narration style , took me a bit to warm up. Yet , by %15 into the story, I was fully invested and charmed by his portrayal of Leo and Zolt.

Straight as a Wheel is my first book of the series and it perfectly stand alone .

This book was so far up my alley I think it's my new favorite from this author. It had a dark side and a few twists but nothing too extreme (aside from the poor fish which broke my heart). I'm happy with the ending, there was a satisfying emotional connection, there was an actual plot that was planned out with a bunch of little twists, and it was hot. The narration was fantastic and I hope all the future books remain with this narrator because he really seems to fit the essence and writing style of these books. I 100% recommend.

I liked that this book had more of the opposite Leo the biker thinks he needs the wife 2.5 kids and dog to be happy but failed relationship after failed relationship had him down so when sexy af Zolt makes him an offer he can't refuse he gives in just a little, but the taste of submission is all Zolt needed to make him hungry for the Heller biker and now Leo craves more. I loved that once Leo decided he was all in he was going for it. K. A. Merikan still brings some of the fucked MC life in ways you don't expect and I cringed hard, it hits you right in the feels but I loved this book and highly recommend.

When long ago I read “Outlaw Girls” (Miss Merikan's F/F book), Leo was one of those secondary characters that arouses your interest and make you want to know more about their story, and I couldn't be happier when the authors announced that a book with him as the protagonist would have been written.

Leo, like his sister Rain, is part of the Smoke Valley MC, but he is very different from the rest of his family, in fact his obsession has always been to get married with a girl outside of the club and to start a family with her, in short he is not the usual biker who spends every night with a different woman and thinks only about having fun. And it’s precisely the night he decided to propose to his current girlfriend that everything in Leo's life will start to change.

Zolt has only two interests in life, make as much money as possible and seducing straight guys. All right, he actually has a third, his fish. But the first two are most likely the ones that will risk putting him in serious trouble.
It's been years since he laid eyes on Leo, one of his many preys, and when one night he arrives in his shop in an emotional state, sad and vulnerable, well, when will such an occasion occur again? If at the beginning things become sensual and seductive, with the arrival of a member of a rival club of the Smoke Valley MC, things start to get really bad.

But with that night their story begins.

A story full of secrets, promises, first times, pain and love … a love they didn't know they could feel again.

As always with these authors, reading this book was like riding a roller coaster, I felt so many different emotions in such a short time, I felt like punching one of the protagonists and after an hour I just wanted to hug him and defend him from everyone and everything.
Not to mention action scenes, which cannot be missed with the Merikans, and sex scenes with a high erotic content that kept me listening till the end.

Wasn't sure the author could pull this off for me

I have not read or listened to any previous volumes in this series, but the description intrigued me in that I was not sure the author could make me care about these two characters and make me believe in their happy ever after. One basically preys on straight guys and the other is an outlaw biker who has always expressed the desire for the wife/family. I didn't think I could like or understand Zolt and figured I would be neutral about Leo's experimentation and would be very sad when his heart was broken. Well, kudos to both author and narrator. I came to love and understand both these guys even with their grey morality. By the end I completely believed in their happy ever after. The narration was wonderful. Cold and hard at the beginning and slowly warming to bring out the heat and romance. I am definitely going to check more in this series.

I enjoyed Wyatt Baker's narration and think he's done a good job narrating Straight as a Wheel. His rhythm, inflections and intonations all worked to bring the characters and story to life.

This is the first story in the series I have listened to and it was truly amazing. Loved this story and characters. You get a emotional roller coaster ride with a amazing ending. The narrator did a amazing job with this book. Can’t wait to listen to more from this author

A Strong and Intense Romance

Straight as a Wheel is the eleventh book in the Sex and Mayhem series. This book focuses on the Smoke Valley MC, but it can easily be read as a standalone. I highly suggest reading all the other books in this series because they are all fantastic. The only thing is that these books are not for everyone. They are raw and gritty; these are men who are morally compromised who make choices that are not good. There is no redemption to these men, just hard love and hard choices. Read the warnings before deciding if this is the type of book for you.

K.A. Merikan are wonderful writers, and they really know how to create a tense and thrilling plotline that sucks the reader right in. The relationship between Leo and Zolt is intense and explosive—from their sex to the measures their go through to protect each other—there is no limits to what these men will do for each other.

The audiobook was narrated by Wyatt Baker who does a fantastic job with the narration. There is a lot of action throughout this book and it requires a high energy performance that does not cross the line into being too over the top or corny. Wyatt does a great job of not crossing that line and creating an electric performance that really enhances the story. Overall I loved this book and thought the audiobook performance was well done.

Another great story

I received an ARC of this audio for my honest review. Leo wants a wife, kids, and a home. He wants to fit in with the rest of his family. So much that he rushes into relationships settling instead of finding someone that wants what he wants. Zolt loves playing with straight men. He likes the chase and being the first man for the straight man. He has a green book full of all his conquests. Zolt has dreams of retiring to the Caribbean where he will lay on the beach and have his choice of boy toys to play with.
