I love all of the short stories I’ve read/listened to by James and this one is no different in that respect. This one is a unique blend of western gunslinger and snake oil salesman setting and some intriguing supernatural powers for both. Straight Shooter

This was a good old west short story with a supernatural twist, Our star of the story is Holt who likes his privacy and to stay in the background as much as possible'. Holt is a good man who has the ability to always shoot straight. As he says in the book he likes to take people out who need taking out. After sustaining a bad deep cut on his hand while doing chores on his new ranch, He goes into town to see the doctor who turns out to be a very evil person' I had read the kindle version of this book, and when I saw that it was available on audio book, I was like "heck yeah" I also want to thank the author James Livingood and FABC for providing me a code to receive this book free, I am giving my honest & unbiased review., Also the narrating done by Lawrence D. Yaklin was spot on.

Enjoyable Western Short Story

I really enjoyed this western short story it had a very interesting supernatural twist. A gunslinger with a good heart meets a crooked town doctor and the bullets fly. If you like westerns give this short story a shot!

Great Western Short!

I enjoyed this story. A well told supernatural western. Our main character Holt is exactly what you would expect from a gunslinging drifter. Quite and deadly, with a sense of honor. On the surface he appears like a cold blooded killer. Or is it justice. I will be recommended this story to my family and friends.

Fun short story

This was a fun story to listen to. A gunslinger with an "extra" gift, meets a doctor with an "extra" gift also. Will they use their gifts for good or evil? Give a listen to find out; it's only an hour! The narrator read just a bit slowly, but, every word was clear and distinct. Overall, I give it 4 stars. I received this audiobook free from the author, but this is a totally voluntary review.

Short Shot, but very interesting

A unique blend of the Old West and paranormal, with an anti-hero vs. evil villan. Fun Listen!

Supernatural Western Tale

An interesting short story about a man named Holt who has a supernatural ability to shoot straight, no matter what. When Holt encounters a Doctor who seems to be using a similar supernatural ability to make tons of money at the cost of making people sick, he realizes that he has to do something to stop him. If you enjoy tales of the Old West, this is a great way to spend an hour.

I enjoyed the story and the narrator did a great job in adding to my enjoyment. My only complaint is that I would like to know more about Holt and hope that the author writes more of his exploits!

An Interesting Western

An interesting supernatural western with a good storyline and a well developed main character. The audio narration was well done and kept the story entertaining. A recommended story for an hour of enjoyment.

Traditional Old West Tale

This was my first experience with an audible product. It reminded.me of the old TV westerns that were classic and predictable, yet also entertaining at the same time. Easy to get through and still exciting.

An old fashion western with a paranormal tone

Looking for an old fashion western with a paranormal tone this is the one to pick up. Holt a gunman settles in a town things are going well till the Doctor came. I have not listened to this kind of audiobook before but I loved it the narrator Lawrence D. Yaklin was outstanding just the right voice for a western and it has music too such a wonderful touch. This was an hour of entertainment I will not forget.

A man with a power to shoot straight rides away to a town where no one knew his name and builds a new, satisfying life for himself - until another threatens to drain his new found town.
A quick to read short story which seems to turn around on itself: to say any more would completely destroy the tale. Well written, with nostalgic-for-the-cinema-westerns-of-the-70s music introducing it, this is for more than just the western genre fan.
The narration by Lawrence D.Hamlin is good, his slightly gruff voice suiting the character of the piece and his reading is simple, clear and well intoned. Only one repeat editing glitch noted.

Overall, an enjoyable short, unusual and surprising, perfect to fill an empty hour. Recommended even if western are not usually a preferred genre
