The recording basically has you visualize your present skin picking, then imagine throwing that image away and replacing it with an image of your ideal/not picking. Tbh tho this part mostly just made me think about my skin picking at it's worst, rather than my goals or how I'll get there.
I've had in-person hypnotherapy before (AND IT WORKED). There were a lot more specific phrases, which bridged the gap between the problem I had and the solution. I don't think my hypnotherapist brought up the problem itself (picky eating) at all during the session, since our brains aren't as good at understanding negation (eg "stop skin picking" usually makes you think of about skin picking). instead it was all positive statements: you will try new foods, you will notice the texture of the food, you will like the texture of the new food, you will enjoy the texture of the new food, etc.
TL: DR i doubt this will work, and I'd recommended seeking a professional hypnotherapist if you can afford it.
