Publisher's summary

Arokh

I broke the rules and stole an auction item from her buyers. Because somehow, they’d managed to abduct a Gryfala princess. Though, she doesn’t look, or act, or sound quite like I thought one of her kind would. But I’m merely a Rakhii gladiator; this is the closest I’ve actually ever been to a princess. I’d be considered lucky, indeed, if she chose me to guard her. Instead, I want more. I need her to claim me. Because she doesn’t know it, but now I can’t let her go.

Angie

Woke up in a freaking auction pen. With no coffee. But there were aliens. And they didn’t bid on me out of the goodness of their hearts. FML. Then this nice alien showed up in the nick of time, but he keeps referring to me as “princess”, and I’m starting to worry what he’ll do when he finds out that there’s been a little case of mistaken identity. I’m not royalty - see, I’m not even whatever alien he mistook me for....

I’m just a human.

Angie is the most insufferable person in the world

WTH?
There isn't really much story to this. The largest plot point is about a quarter of the story. Angie and her Alien can't communicate because of a language barrier. He saves her from being raped by evil aliens and they go on a quest to get her to her home planet.

The thing is, she's human, not this species that HE thinks she is. You get the feeling that she's hiding that so he will take care of her, but that point isn't as strong as it could be.

The most annoying parts of the story are Angie's sections. She talks like she's a teen at California Pizza Kitchen who was just told they ran out of a topping she wanted. Her "Aw geeze" and "woah big guy" is totally, completely out of character for the situation she's in. And is SO annoying! I stopped at about 5 hours in because I didn't know what she looked like, her hair color, her age, or anything really about her. Her entire persona didn't display any trauma or strength in her thinking quick about the station she was in.

She's been abducted from her home planet, sold into sexual servitude and treated like a queen by this guard, but she's freaked out about getting an inoculation?! She's the worst part about the story.

She never asks about the planet or how she got there, or if there is any authority she can talk to, or anything like that. She never questions anything about this world and that blows my mind. She's such a pointless character.

The Alien is rather interesting. You learn about his caste dynamic in relation to the female he thinks Angie is, and you understand what he looks like and why. He's interesting. She's not. So why is she so valuable?! Geeze! Can't these stories write interesting women characters other than their abilities to give these dues sex?

Who knew there was a real story in this book?

O.K., when you pick up an alien, sci-fi/romance book, there is usually fluff around a lot of hot spots, no real creative thinking goes into the story. Not this one, folks! I was titillated by the steamy sex, and caught up in the fine underlying roller coaster ride with a lot of turns ahead I did not see coming. I highly recommend the book and author to all. Now for the obligatory: "I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review."

Absolutely LOVE

I have read and listened to this a few times. Cracknell does a fantastic job reading male and female parts. The story is funny, romantic, exciting and just plain FUN.

Enjoyable Listen

I love science fiction romance and Amanda Milo really delivered. I was surprised by the descriptions that the aliens actually looked like aliens and not human-looking aliens. I loved Angie’s sense of humor and I had several laugh-out-loud moments. After the initial chapter, I was fully involved in Arokh and Angie’s lives. For me, that is what a good book is all about where it can play out in my mind while I listen. The narrator did a pretty good job of differentiating Arokh from Angie. Let me just say that I would love to have an Arokh of my own. All I can say is WOW! I loved how the Rakhii and Hobs were extremely protective of females. Of course, the bad guys were horrible. I usually do not read or listen to books that do not have an HEA and this one did not disappoint. Hopefully book 2 will be available on Audible soon! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Where is the story

This is a waste of hours for me … it had The potential of being a great read if they actually had a storyline but it seems like it is filled with a whole bunch of chaos in no clear part the main character was really good I wish I knew more about what was going on around them the girl Angie was a waste of a character

Narrator was perfect!

The story was wonderful!! The characters were lovable. I don't know why some reviews said Angie complained when she didn't. She was abducted by aliens! I would be scared and complain too!

Amazingly funny alien romance

This book (series, actually) just captures my heart so much! Amanda Milo's writing is so good, funny, etc, that it's easy to get so lost in her book(s) that when you look up at your clock, you realize that it's 2:30 in the morning, that you have to get up in 3 hours; however, in mid groan you realize that it was just so worth it! Then when you add in the audio and this sexy beast if a voice (Nick Cracknell), who can make you melt in a puddle with the first sentence... you have the recipe for an amzing alien book adventure! Yum!

Omg will this crap ever end?

I’ve tried for two months or more to get into this book. It just ain’t happening. I listen to it drone on and on about shit I don’t care about. It’s not an interesting story in the first place.
I thought to myself on Numerous Occasions “when will this crap get better or end. Gah!”

The narration is good but the story is crap.
But that’s just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Engaging version of an enjoyable book!

Amanda Milo writes stories that are well put together and by turns, fun, serious, interesting, and a bit off center, meaning not your typical boring rehashed tropes. This is a great audio version of this entry of what I call her "Princess Mix Up" alien abduction series. Definitely recommend!

Character-driven story

Read if…
You like stories focused on character and relationship development with some humor (warning: after the near-rape) and lots of well-intentioned misunderstanding (they can’t speak to each other).

Don’t read if…
You like lots of action and focus on a larger plot. Definitely no galactic evil empire, political intrigue, mystery, etc.

I enjoyed it, which is unusual since I tend to dislike relationship books, but Amanda Milo writes particularly well. I just wish “Beth’s Stable” would come out as audio.

Excellent Narration of one of my Favourites!

I cannot write here how much I love this series and Amanda Milo books in general.

No, I don't know her.
No, she doesn't pay me.
No, she has not written nearly enough books because I still have time to read other authors.

This story is riveting. I read the kindle version a while back so this was my second time around and I was still hooked. I laughed out loud so many times my kids started rolling their eyes at each outburst (because I refused to tell them what I was laughing at - they're too young).

Can't wait to hear the rest of the series in audio. Nick Cracknell did an outstanding job bringing this tale to life. Bring on the next audiobook already :D

***Stolen by an Alien***

Wow this book was good in written format but it's fantastic in audio thanks Amanda for making it happen. I love Arokh and Angie's story. You have a way of making an over used plot into a fascinating and captivating story. I can't wait for the next book to be made in Audio. Nick Cracknell you are amazing, I love how you manage to make each characters unique and has their own personality. It's totally belivable how you sound each one and I love specially Arokh his voice is so sexy it's how I imagine he would sounds like. Thank you.

Great Series

This is a great series especially if you like 'Warriors of Hir', 'Ice Planet Barbarians' or 'Dragons of Tajss'. Great world building and well performed by the narrator/s.
