Publisher's summary

When they told her she’d been abducted from Earth as a tribute bride for a badass alien warrior, Hope thought it was the craziest thing she’d ever heard. That was before she was kidnapped by space pirates.

Hope didn’t buy the idea of being a tribute bride. After all, she’d never been into commitment. But when she sees the Drexian who’s come to rescue her, she’s more impressed than she wants to admit. Not only is he gorgeous and built, but he seems willing to do anything to keep her safe. Too bad she has no intention of going anywhere but back to Earth.

Kos has always been a loyal and driven Drexian warrior, rising in the ranks to become first officer of the space station. He’s never spent much time with human women, but how complicated could they be? When he rescues Hope from the pirates, he figures the hard part is over. Now, he only has to get her back to Drexian space and formalize his mating claim on her.

What could possibly go wrong?

Only everything.

Hurt my ears and heroine is obnoxious

This is the same narrator from the other books in the series and usually it’s a good narration. However her attempt at the accent did not work, it is hard to understand and makes every time the heroine speaks grate on your nerves. On top of that the heroine is TSTL. She makes irrational decisions through the entire book that were beyond frustrating to listen to. The best parts of this story was when the hero called her on her BS and told her how stupid her decisions were.

The accent

Love the book and most of the narration was good but the accent was so bad to the point of distraction.

Not as good as the other books - skip it

I love Jodie Bentley as a voice actor/narrator and she has been amazing at keeping character voices consistent across the series, however the New Zealand accent was bad and grating. The best I could do was to pretend that Hope was from some uneducated NZ backcountry type place with a distinct dialect in order to get through the irritating voice.

What didn't help the narration snafu was the lame characters. Hope was just so stupid and annoying. There was also some repetition near the end with her having to be told again about the ship and space. Not even the sexy times were enough to save the mostly boring story.

The best part of this book was the introduction of Brock and his Inferno Force crew. I was hopeful he would be the next book and I'm glad the Epilogue confirms it. I would recommend skipping this book and just waiting for the next one with him.

The story line is good!

Not as good

This book was not very good, didn’t like the accent and really didn’t like Hope, she was so obnoxious I couldn’t stand it. A pure pain in the a**. Definitely my least favorite of the books. I believe in strong females but this one was ignorant.

This heroin is whiny.

I am frustrated with her. I had hoped that she would find reality and strength rather than merely just going along with her situation and stop making stupid decisions.

Good story OK narrator

I always enjoy Tana Stone stories and usually I enjoy Jodie Bentley as a narrator, but I did NOT enjoy her fake Australian accent in this story, it made the story hard to listen to and the female character a bit unlikable.

He deserved better!

All of the women are a bit off but I really wished he would have decided to reject her. She was annoying and not worth all the trouble she caused.

I didn't like this one!

The bride is the biggest moron of them all! Not only is the story extremely flawed but the readers New Zealand fake accent is absolutely atrocious.
