Publisher's Summary

We live in a fast-paced world that has come to characterize the 21st century. We are bombarded with constant distractions, and silence has all but vanished from our daily schedule and practice. We are collectively exhausted, but we don’t really realize it. The exhaustion manifests in sicknesses we can’t identify, and if we can, it’s something we can’t pronounce. We batter ourselves against the daily onslaught that has become our lives.

We all need a break, and we all need answers on how to stop this fast-moving wreck in motion. The answer it turns out has been in front of us all along and within us even longer. The Stoics figured it out two and a half millennia ago and practiced it with great results. Maybe it can help us now too.

Stoicism has two aspects - the theory and the academics of it, and wanting to read or listen to the texts that fall into that category is a good thing, but this is not that. This book is about how one practices Stoicism in their daily life here and now. It is for this century, this decade.

Is the solution here? No. The solution is within each of us. What you will find here, though, is the way to extract the solution that is already within you. It’s as simple as that.

So what are you waiting for? Scroll up and click the "buy now" to find the solution you've been searching for!

Amazing

This book is amazing. It has the ability to magically have relevance to my life each time I pick it up. It is amazing to realize that such great men existed and if anything, should be great role models to you. This will really hit home especially if you're a logical / scientific person. There are many overlaps with the lifestyle of being mindful, as well as Buddhist beliefs and practices; however, this offers a practical way of looking at similar beliefs in a more objective and concrete manner. If you are on a path to enlightenment, PLEASE BUY THIS BOOK!

Great book

Great book filled with all the self acceptance you could ever need. You won't become a Roman Emperor or a slave from listening these daily meditations, those positions are already filled. You will become better adapted to this thing called life. And, I dare say, more contented.

Understanding

This book is great for anyone interested in stoic philosophy. It is a great way to introduce yourself to a way of thinking which, for many people, helps them make sense of the world and our role in it. I have listen many stoic classics but this helps explain what the author was looking to achieve. I am listening the entire book first, making my notes, than I will go back and listen each days thought throughout the year.

Life Changing

I'm not sure how I got this far in my life without knowing about Stoic Philosophy by name, this book has been a game changer for me and, thanks to me, dozens of friends and family members too. I have been committed to listening and journaling the daily passages every day for 10 months now and it has truly opened my eyes - and my mind - to so much that I have been missing.

I would recommend it to anyone

I was looking for a book that was similar to a devotional without the religious aspect. I also wanted a daily reminder of mindfulness, awareness, philosophy, meditation,Wisdom and thought. This book is exactly what I was looking for. I would recommend it to anyone.

Very stoic

A good daily meditation. Uses quotes and a short listening for expansion and explanation about how to apply the stoic ideas to daily life.

Awesome Book

This book helps to keep you on track with life...it helps to guide you to be true to yourself and live by your inner guide rather than external perceptions. It is set up day by day so you have something to start your day with. Awesome.

Essential Daily listening

Occasionally I had to listen multiple days to catch up, but this book has been helpful through the year as I try to be more practical and less angsty in life. Get you one of these. It’s underpriced, really.

Great collection of daily listening's that you will want to listen in bunches. Old advice from the Stoics that is as relevant today as it was centuries ago.

Love the interpretations offered

Love the interpretations offered, much easier than trying to digest Meditations or some of the other work by the Stoics.

It is great

For a person that likes to take action into better reasoning for making decisions in every aspect of life, this is a great book. It not only introduces you into the Stoic philosophy, but better yet invites you to use the thinking of some of the best thinkers of all time. Interesting how, in different words, the Stoics converge precisely with the best Buddhist minds.

It has literally change

Sorry if this sounds crazy or like a convert but I don't like this book.
It has literally change my outlook on life and how I approach things daily. I’m a religious man and minimally spiritual, but I reference this everyday and treat it like a bible.

Thought provoking

I am enjoying this book quite a bit more than I expected to. Each day after my morning meditation I like to sit and listen the day’s passage. If you are looking for some deep lengthy meditation this is not for you. If you are looking for bite sized thought provoking passages to help you see things a little differently... this is great. I look forward to each section, and I can see myself following this for another year. This book has also inspired me to seek out more writings of The philosopher’s quoted. I recommend it.
