Publisher's summary

She belongs to my brother....

I’ve stood back for years watching Dax repeatedly screw things up with Kennedy, as if he doesn’t think anyone could ever swoop in and steal her away.

Breakup after breakup, they always end up back together, even though I’ve always had a thing for her. I’m tired of waiting. He had his chance.

I want mine.

When Dixie’s Alibi - her Grandmother’s bar - needs a new cook for the food truck, I jump at the opportunity, despite the fact that Kennedy Ward hates me. At least, she pretends she does. We both know she secretly wants me and always has.

One way or another, I will get her to finally admit it, even if it involves losing my brother. I plan to play dirty - real dirty - just like he did.

This time I’m going to beat him at his own game. I wanted her first, and he knew that, but our age kept us apart. Not anymore.

Now, I’m grown and ready to take what should’ve been mine to begin with.

Damn hot

This book was amazing, you could tell from the beginning that Kennedy and Colson were meant to be. They both had feelings for the other even though Kennedy was trying to fight hers since she was with his brother Dax. Don't get me wrong, I agree with her and she did try to make it worse on numerous occasions, what was it, 8 to be exact. Colson was tired of waiting and wanted her to be happy once and for all. He wanted to satisfy his needs as well but he was tired of waiting and wanted to prove he could make her his. It was cute to see how the little things he did could make her happy, and that's all it usually takes with a woman.

I have to say, too, the narrators did an amazing job. Thet made it clear which character was which, their feelings, and just made the whole book flow. I love how well they work together every time.

Steal You Away

Falling in love with your brother’s girlfriend is not good, but stealing her from him is awesome! These two have such strong chemistry that I don’t know how they lasted as long as they did without this happening sooner. Such a fun listen with amazing narration.

Done right!

this is done the way Auditable books should be read, the male reads all the sentences by boys even during the female point of view it feels like you are truly ease dropping on a really juicy bit of gossip it wonderful. I love this story so much ❤

Male lead was a jerk at times

The beginning of this book was not that good. The male lead was a brat and so pushy. I did not like him or his brother. I would have told both of them to take a hike. It got better towards the end. I love wen Ross, but his voice in this book got on my nerves.

THERE’S GOOD.. BUT FOR ME, THERE’S NOT SO GOOD TOO

Colson has loved Kennedy from the first time he saw her at the skate park - but he was three years younger than she was.. however that didn’t stop him making a plan to ask her out when he got old enough. He would forever regret telling his older brother Dax (who was about Kennedy’s age) about his love and plans for Kennedy.. Dax was not a good brother because he immediately went after Kennedy himself. So, at sixteen years old, Kennedy starts an eight year on/off relationship with Dax. However, the Prologue of the story starts when twenty-two yr old Kennedy is still drawn to the talented, sexy, handsome, hot nineteen yr old brother of her BFF Blair - and also her boyfriend‘s younger off limits brother. Kennedy and Dax are on yet another ‘break’ and finally Colson can’t take any more so breaks the invisible chains that has tied his love down for years.. and passionately kisses Kennedy. All the girls swoon over the sexy skateboarder/cook and Kennedy can obviously see why - her eyes have always been drawn to him.. but, when she accidentally sees him ‘self-loving’ himself then he passionately kisses her when she’s caught, it will awaken feelings that will haunt her for the next two years. Because Colson leaves that night and it’ll be two more years before he comes back determined to fight and determined to steal Kennedy away.

Which is where the push-n-pull present day love story between now twenty-one yr old Colson and twenty-four yr old Kennedy starts as the two brothers fight for what they both want. It’s obvious Colson and Kennedy are out-of-step soulmates and it takes them a while to emotionally get into sync and fight and conquer the demons that stand in their way. And this story (for me) was a 50/50 listen.. I loved Colson’s dedication, commitment, love and single-minded belief that he and Kennedy were meant to be together and he moved mountains to make it happen. I loved the duet-style dual POV narration by Kai and Wen which brought the characters and feels to life. But I didn’t love the slightly immature feel to the story with NA emotions, skateboards, smoking and caps on backwards. Or the fact that Dax was vilified as the villain just because he and Kennedy weren’t right for each other and that their relationship never really worked. The pushing away and fighting for got so repetitive after a while and so did the constant “Colson’s so hot” mantra. Good chemistry, sex, emotional angst, drama, a dilemma of the heart vs guilt, deep unwavering love and a HEA.

Worth a credit? I’m on the fence with this one.. so maybe just a sale purchase.
