James Orson bought the Copperhead to fade into a whiskey-soaked retirement after a decade as a galactic operative, but a salvage run into the forbidden Acheron Nebula uncovers the frozen legacy of the Felis Shogunate—and the lethal, alluring warriors who wake up claiming him as their Lord. Suddenly, James is thrust onto the front lines of a losing war against the insectoid Krall, where he must juggle the cutthroat politics of the Conclave with the voracious appetites of feline wives who are as dangerous in the bedroom as they are in a dogfight. The galaxy is burning, the odds are impossible, and the fun is just getting started.

The female VAs are fine, but After a while I realized that the story was slow paced due to the male VA and when I switched the speed to 1.2 speed found it much better experience.
The female VAs are fine, but the male doesn’t really have much of a tone difference keeping a very calm voice throughout the story. If the story says he’s shouting, the male VA’s voice doesn’t reflect it. But if the female characters shout, the female VA’s follow that.
The story itself was pretty good and the ending is pretty open to a book 2, new enemy showed up and a ping from a region, but it can also end here leaving the next part of the story to the reader. I would definitely buy a book 2, so here’s to that. the male doesn’t really have much of a tone difference keeping a very calm voice throughout the story. Great MC and great supporting characters each with their own backstory and interests. Fantastic narration from beginning to end.
Really great book.
