Publisher's summary

Cosy up with a mug of hot chocolate for some festive sparkle from best seller Jessica Redland.

Everyone is getting into the festive spirit on Castle Street - snow is falling, fairy lights are glistening and Christmas shopping is underway.

But for Tara Porter, owner of thriving cafe The Chocolate Pot, this is the most difficult time of the year. From the outside, Tara is a successful businesswoman and pillar of the community. Behind closed doors, she is lonely.

With a lifetime of secrets weighing on her shoulders, she has retreated from all friends, family and romance, and shut her real self away from the world. After all, if you don't let them in, they can't hurt you. She's learnt that the hard way.

But as the weight of her past becomes heavier and an unexpected new neighbour moves onto the street - threatening the future of her cafe - Tara begins to realise that maybe it's time to finally let people back in and confront her history. It could just change her life forever.

Starry Skies Over the Chocolate Pot Café was originally released as Christmas at the Chocolate Pot Café. Now re-released with a new title and new cover, this version has been freshly edited and features several new chapters.

Narrator ?

The story is great ! However the main character is only 27 but the narrator sounds very mature ??? Threw me but still worth a listen heartwarming story ♥️

Another happy ending in Whitsborough Bay

I liked and relate to this book, but the pacing in conversations was difficult to listen to.

Not a fan or the auditor

I loved the book and most of the voices but her male voice was so monotone and stopped dead in a weird way

Narrator kind of killed it

The story was good but the narrator made it hard to follow. She goes from bubbly and interesting to monotone oz accent with excruciating pauses in reading.

Wow! Such a well written book!

I kept waiting for the love interest, but I was so happy with this book focusing on Tara as a person first! The performance and the writing were great! 5 stars!

for charity's sake

the main character in this book is a giver. in the rest of the series, she's all about helping others, and here we get to know her story and the why behind her good intentions. I enjoy how Jessica the author can lead us to be suspicious or dislike or fall in love with characters all in one book. the narrator did a nice job even though I didn't love the voices she created for the characters like some of the other book's narrators. I enjoy that Miss Redland clearly thinks about how to make each book stand alone so a person could just read one whilst giving her characters so much life that I'm wrapped up in finding every one in the series to enjoy.

Love the story-performance was odd 🥴

While the story was exceptional, the narration was awkward. Tara sounded like an old lady, then I realized she was 35!! Maria and Karen were laughable. I’ve heard male performers do a better woman’s voice. Hard to listen when Karen in the previous book sounded so much better. Also awkward pauses that didn’t sound like real conversation. Performer might be better in a different story

Good story - the editing pauses are unbearable

I love Whitsborough Bay and these characters. This is a nice story; most of the conflict happens prior to the reader entering the scene, but that’s okay. It was a sweet journey. But please, re-record the story - the editing pauses are almost unbearable. I don’t know that I could last through another story peppered with those odd pauses. I have never encountered those in an audiobook before and they were extremely distracting, disrupting the flow and magic of the story. Very off-putting.
