Cosy up with a mug of hot chocolate for some festive sparkle from MILLION-COPY BESTSELLER Jessica Redland.

Everyone is getting into the festive spirit on Castle Street - snow is falling, fairy lights are glistening and Christmas shopping is underway.

But for Tara Porter, owner of thriving cafe, The Chocolate Pot, this is the most difficult time of the year. From the outside, Tara is a successful businesswoman and pillar of the community. Behind closed doors, she is lonely.

With a lifetime of secrets weighing on her shoulders, she has retreated from all friends, family and romance, and shut her real self away from the world. Afterall, if you don't let them in, they can't hurt you. She's learnt that the hard way.

But as the weight of her past becomes heavier and an unexpected new neighbour moves onto the street - threatening the future of her cafe - Tara begins to realise that maybe it's time to finally let people back in and confront her history. It could just change her life forever...

Starry Skies Over The Chocolate Pot Café is a standalone novel, but best enjoyed after Christmas at Carly's Cupcakes.

I wasn’t sure about this book to begin with but then it became more clear. The author had me going through a range of emotions with this story.

This book made me smile and also cry. I really enjoyed it

Oh how this movie touched my heart. Let you know that there’s still love between the foster parents and adoptive parents. And being kind and helpful makes a difference

EJ loved it

When I first learned about Tara’s history I almost stopped reading the book. I’m so glad it finished it - loved the narration. I am going to UK next summer for my daughter’s wedding - based on this beautiful story I’m going to take a side trip to the North Yorkshire coast. Lovely story.

Sweet story full of feelings

I have listened and loved many series of this author. I love the story lines, the details of the settings/location and so much more but, often times I’ve found myself needing to stop and refocus because the readers voice is just a bit distracting from the story/characters. I feel like the reader age the main characters. I am not English so I’m not familiar with the accents but I wish the reader wouldn’t emphasize these too much.

Love the story, needs new voice/reader

I have listened to several books by this author and enjoy them. The editing could have been better - too many extended pauses in the 2nd half of the book. Especially in conversations between 2 people. The only negative comment is that there were two characters (kids of one of the main characters) named Erin/Aaron. Who does that? No explanations or anyone getting confused about which Erin/Aaron they were talking about. That distracted me.

Two Erin/Aarons ?!

I like that her stories are related to another character in her past books! Good wholesome stories that make you laugh and cry.

Love it!

This was my first book & I really enjoyed it. I’d recommend it to others as well.

This was a very enjoyable story , very sweet and romantic too. Jessica Redland wrote this story really well. I will be reading more of her books. Emma Swan was very good at narrating this.

I thought I was going to listen to a happy, light and fun holiday story. Instead this story is about trust, forgiveness and hope.

Some parts of the recording were not edited right and there were pauses between the dialogs. That is the reason I gave it 3 stars in performance

Good book

I liked the story. I liked the characters. Most of the 1st half of the book is backstory so it reads much more like a regular novel & bit of a mystery rather than a rom-com. It is set in the quaint seaside town but most of the action takes place in the Cafe and in the heroine's memories of her past. This lends itself to deep character development. However, there is a rather disturbing part that I'm not sure necessary or fit with the otherwise light hearted tone of the story.

One element that was super fun was the revisiting earlier characters from previous books. It was almost like catching up with old friends.

A few odd parts of the writing include the restaurant naming... Vanilla Pot and Chocolate Pot when read with the English accent both sound the same but ate not related in the story. Also, siblings named Erin and Aaron... seriously? It's an audio book, I was thoroughly confused by who was who in that part of the story.

The narration was... ok. There was always a large pause before the hero spoke, I assume to get the Aussi accent changed up but it threw the rhythm of the dialog off. For some reason the main voice had me picturing Daphine's 70 year old mom from the TV show Faiser. I couldn't adjust my minds eye to a young 30 year old... my issue but it was just weird. Not sure I would listen to this performer again.

Overall a good, albeit long tale.

Good but more Interesting than romantic
