Publisher's Summary

In the wake of a shattered alliance, the New Republic fights a relentless new enemy in the best-selling Star Wars saga.

Faced with an alarming image of Han as a battered hostage of the Yevetha, Chewbacca takes on an urgent mission. Meanwhile, Leia calls upon the Senate to take a stand and eliminate the Yevetha threat, even at the cost of Han's life. As a former Imperial governor takes his battle to the runaway Qella spaceship, Luke's continuing search for his mother brings him dangerously close to Nil Spaar's deadly forces. And as the Yevetha close in on the forces of the New Republic, Luke takes a desperate gamble with an invisible weapon.

Book was abridged way too much!! Story line wasnt quite on track with the print version. Not gonna say anymore about the reader that I haven't already said before!!

An empty reward, but a solid journey.

First up, this book adequately covers the previous material and brings all plot points to a close, while providing scope for further development with familiar groups. It is, for all intents and purposes, a SAFE ending to the trilogy, and leaves only a familiar taste in the mouth by the end.
That being said, the lack of confrontation, the escalation and then retraction of "powers" by a mysterious group offers no promise and ultimately gives me no reason to mark highly for "Story". But, as before, the characterisations felt very well written in tone and personality- giving the story its greatest strength and success; authenticity. Without a (non-jarring) significant twist, I gave 3 stars (C+) for not annoying me with its conclusion. The narrator's performance was adequate, as ever, and the full suite of Lucasfilm sound effects carried the imagination where it needed to go in traditional "STAR WARS" style.
