Publisher's Summary

Authority is a tremendous thing in the universe, nothing overshadows it. God's throne is established on His authority. God's authority represents God Himself. God alone is authority in all things; all the authorities of the earth are instituted by God. It is therefore important for us who desire to serve God to know the authority of God.

God's authority is absolute, hence we must give Him absolute submission (our heart's attitude) and absolute obedience (our outward actions). But to His delegated authorities we can render absolute submission, but only relative obedience. For their authorities are circumscribed by the measure of the life of Christ in them. Only when they themselves submit to God's authority in them are they able to represent God. Hence there is much we have to learn about how to represent God.

Weak Exegesis

Many of the good points toward the end of the book are overshadowed by dangerous points early in the book. Our Authority is Christ, and His infallible Word. We can't put our trust in fallible men, no matter their rank or title. Furthermore, Nee doesn't address the limits of jurisdiction for authorities. A minister of the Gospel doesn't have inherent civil authority, nor does a civil authority have inherent authority in the Church.

Makes you really rethink wanting authority.

Extremely insightful. I enjoyed and now understand how to proceed to authority with precautions. Extreme precaution.

Incredibly insightful

This is an incredibly insightful work. Only a live lived and experienced with the Lord could produce such a work. I highly recommend this to all Christians but especially those who desire to become fully His. Blessings.

Easy listen for a challenging read!

What a refreshing version of a book I've read several times already. Sometimes just hearing instead of reading can bring new perspective and revelation.

Remarkable piece of work. <br />

Living and walking in the spirit. Beginning at the right place obedience.
Knowing God is all authority, must be a relevation by the holyspirit. This writing gives the reader practical insight into not only what to do but the way also to walk in it.
Authority why some have it. Who gave it to them. Best of all how one may obtain it through his service to God. Behind the pages of this book is the mystery of growth and the fathers power.
