Publisher's Summary

Every year, Jathan One-Moon faces increasing pressure that he marry and have children. What Jathan really wants is a male mate that can enjoy both playful sex and his more dominant nature. To tame his stress, Jathan orders a male escort from Spice 'n' Solace, the premier male brothel in the Galactic Alliance - and is thrilled to be sent a man whose air of innocence and obvious desire for Jathan arouse him like never before.

Jathan doesn't know he has mistaken Kazha Deinos, the owner of Spice 'n' Solace, as his escort. Kaz doesn't intend to pleasure Jathan personally, but his powerful masculinity is irresistible. Kaz has dreamed of a man who'd take charge and indulge his hidden cravings-a man just like Jathan.

With their explosive passion and unexpected tenderness, Jathan and Kaz soon want to stay together - if Jathan's position and Kaz's secrets don't tear them apart...

Awesome K.C. Burn book!

First.. this is m/m romance... duh... (look at the book cover)...

Second...K.C. Burn is awesome... If you have listen to Alien Outlaw... then the alien from that book reappear briefly in this one... A good read/listen...

Very enjoyable...well worth a credit, buy or sale..

Nice surprise

I enjoyed this novella, but it was a little too short; but it packs a lot in. The MCs relationship is sweet but also very hawt. Lots of smex but it is done well. This is the first book before Alien and the Outlaw (which I listened to first). Doesn't really matter, both are stand alone reads. The narrator is very good in both. It was under $5 when I bought it and worth it at that price, but it is not worth a credit.

Light and touching, with an interesting backdrop

Unusual premise…but interesting! Male brothel OWNER finding himself thrust into the role of EMPLOYEE, interwoven with the story of two men coming to realize that dreams for love they thought forever denied them because of their respective positions in society might actually be possible. Sprinkle in some tenderness, some need-to-feel-safe-and-protected, some righteous justice, some sex…ok well, a whole lotta sex actually (superhuman IMHO)…and you’ve got a really cute story. Not long at all, but quite a bit of thought-provoking stuff packed in there.

I have to say, I love that the setting is a sci-fi universe with planets and aliens. But, tbh, apart from an olfactory cue from a particularly nose-sensitive species of alien, this could very easily be transcribed into an ordinary Earth-bound human-only story. Perfectly here-and-now relevance for the themes (and there are several), very um…satisfying, shall we say, intimacy and an HEA. Short and sweet. Great title too! Although for the “spice”, I’d say it’s mostly cinnamon rather than cayenne, compared to some other books out there.

Great choice for my first

I normally don't go for anything sci-fi at all but came across this and decided I would try something different. I have to say for this being such a short book it was so well written and the characters are amazing. They get to the point quickly without skipping out on the details and giving just enough character background. And the sci-fi aspect was easy for me to follow even in my inexperience. I seriously recommend this book.

This is a great story with great narration.

I think I picked this audiobook up when Audible had a sale. It's been in my library for a little over a year and I'm sorry I waited so long to listen to it.

Unless he also narrates under another name, Spice 'N' Solace is the first audiobook I've listened to by Richard Magnus and I think he did a great job. I enjoyed the different voices he used and his voice was easy to listen to.

I'm a huge Star Trek fan but I don't tend to read/listen to sci-fi romance; I'm not really sure why. There were things in this story that reminded me of a few different Star Trek episodes but only in passing; the story is in not a retelling of any particular one. The premise of a brothel for men in a society that seems to be against male-male relationships was interesting.

I thought there was fantastic chemistry between the two lead characters, Kazha and Jathan. What starts out as mistaken identity soon grows into something really special between them. I like this story enough that I promptly started listening to book two. (Both books can be read as standalone stories.)

Not worth the slog, this was so boring

This book was incredibly average and borderline boring.

I did not like this non-existent plot, non-existent romance and non-existent characters.

Everyone was very cookie cutter personality, i could not distinguish really one character from the other as there was just no personality anywhere.

It was just so frustrating waiting for something to happen. I kept tolerating it hoping for something to happen.

There are some Erotic moments, but this slog of a story doesn't make it worth it at all.
You really have to deal with a lot of nothing happening and a incredibly boring book to be 'rewarded' with a Erotic moment.
Honestly it was hardly a reward, i just was so numb when something sexy happened from being bored out of my mind for so long.

Luckily this book was short, so i didn't feel like i wasted my time.

I hated these characters, like, this is probably the worst writing I've ever seen for characters. I wish someone had a personality everyone acted so mechanical =/
