Publisher's Summary

Lacey, Clay and Meg are back - this time headed to...a wedding?

Assignment Numero Dos for Lacey comes straight from the Godfather himself. When one of the Luzzi Family's low-ranking associates turns up dead, Carlos believes it may be the doing of the rival Russian mob, and he orders Lacey to find the killer. But every detail about the assignment is a little too neat, a little too tidy, and a little too good to be true. Could this really be an open and shut case, complete with a confession from the murderer?

When Lacey's pumpkin-colored, body-building cousin Joey starts making trouble at his ex-fiancé's wedding - the case starts unraveling from the inside out.

Lacey's not sure what is worse: going face to face with a vicious murderer, ditching Auntie Nora's attempts to fill in the "plus one" on her invite, or finding herself locked in the same hotel as the hot, unavailable, but increasingly drool-worthy Anthony.

Though most family gatherings are challenging, Lacey is afraid that this glittery Family wedding might just kill her.

Lacey is a great character she is smart and sassy and trouble seems to find her all the time...Being a member of a mob family isn't all its cracked up to be, but in the end she comes out a hero once again!

Great Book!

Any additional comments?

This is a great book; this is the second book in the Lacey Luzzi Mafia Mysteries series written by Gina LaManna and narrated by Caitlin Kelly. Lacey, Clay, and Meg are back on another case. When one of the Luzzi Family’s low ranking associates is found dead, Lacey’s grandfather Carlos, believes that it may be the doing of the rival Russian mob, he orders Lacey to find the killer. The problem is she needs to solve the case before her cousin’s wedding which is less than a week away. If you are looking for a great book with many laugh out loud moments then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this great series!

The narrator Caitlin Kelly did a great job with this book, and it was very easy to listen to. She did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to in one sitting and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end.

If you are looking for a great book with many laugh out loud moments then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this great series!

A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

A fun and adventurous cozy mystery...

This book is humorous and fun for a murder mystery. Lacey once again gets a case from her Grandfather to solve another murder mystery. Grandfather needs to know who did the hit and if "The Family" needs to take action. I had fun listening to this cozy mystery. I love the adventures Lacey goes on and her sense of humor is hilarious!

The author, Gina LaManna does a superb job on her story here! I just love the little quirks and laughs here and there. I love Lacey's quick wit too. I listened to this audio book straight thru the first day I got it. The narrator, Caitlin Kelly does a great job delivering this tale to us. I love the voices and accents she uses to read this book to us. I particularly love the Italian accents used for "The Family".

Why did it have to end THERE!!!

I love this series and the building romance between Lacey and Anthony. But I HATE that just when the book was getting really, really good and I thought maybe it might lead to something really, really HOT...I heard The End. I wanted to scream NOOOO. I know why the author is doing this, but I really hate it. Yet at the same time, it means more adventures and more hot scenes between them. So it's really a love hate relationship.

Love the story

What did you like best about Sparkled? What did you like least?

I loved the story, and I thought it was funny; but the voice for Lace came off kinda flat.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sparkled?

The most memorable moment was the druken fight between the bride, and the bridesmaid.

Did Caitlin Kelly do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

I think she captured Meg and Clay perfectly. Lacey and Anthony kinda fell flat for me.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Probably.

as realistic as an I Love Lucy episode

AudioBook Review: Stars Overall 4 Narration 4 Story 4

Lacey and her ‘crew’ are back and there is another mystery that may involve ‘The Family”. Her grandfather, the “Godfather of the Twin Cities” has called her in to discover who killed Leo, a trusted street soldiers. Could it be the Russians, a friend, or perhaps even one of ‘The Family’ who was responsible? Oh – and please solve the case before your Cousin Vivian’s wedding, in just under a week. No Biggie.

Well, actually, despite her often falling into and over clues and correct answers, she does have friends and a crew that are very on her side, and even calling on friends and family to help out doesn’t seem to stretch her resources or her ability to finally get the job done. Toss in a kidnapping (or maybe a staged one) add several laughs, the stress of family and weddings and then toss the ‘Family’ into the mix and what emerges is completely over the top story that just grazes the line of plausible, but is so much more fun for the outré scenarios.

Caitlyn Kelly returns to narrate this title as well, again her voice captures the spirit of Lacey with her youthful perky performance with a touch of sass and chirp. She navigates accents, delivery and presentation for the other characters giving distinct and notable voices to match characters and whatever backstory is presented for them. It is a wonderful listen, full of moments to laugh and as realistic as an I Love Lucy episode, but all the more fun for it.

I received an AudioBook copy of the title from the author for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Welcome to the further adventures of Lacey!

Lacey, Meg, Clay, Anthony and The Godfather/grandfather are back! and the laughs just keep on coming! More fun than Who Killed Roger Rabbit? and SNL combined!
The Minneapolis mafia is watching out so that the Russian mafia doesn't muscle in on their territory. A low talent member is killed. There is this wedding of oddly paired family, and Meg's dress is more of a spectacle than the bride's. And the ex boyfriend of the bride is something else!
Lacey is supposed to sort out this mess, and without spoilers, just go along for the ride and don't gigglesnort yourself to death!
Caitlin Kelley is great as Lacey, and keeps the other *characters* well defined for us. She is just PERFECT as audio performer for this series!
I am thankful to have been gifted with this segment of this series and all too happy to post an honest review

Fun Cozy Mystery

This is the second in this series, I loved Sprinkled and I loved this one. I love Lacey's misadventures. The characters are whacky and fun. This book is about Lacey solving a murder and her cousins upcoming wedding which the whole family have to go to.
This book is light and fun and I adore her whacked best friend. And towards the end you get more of a glimpse into Lacey the orphaned girl that just wanted a family. The whole reason she ended up with her Mafia relatives. She stumbles around trying to fit into her new life. Which gives us lots of laughs.
This book was well written and I honestly didn't see the twist at the end. A lot of it I did guess, but the main twist I didn't. The narration was well done and the narrators voice suited this Character. She did well with the characters different voices too. To me with Audio Books it's important that you have a great Narrator. They can make or break a book. And this narrator made this book for me.
So if you want a fun, light story that will make you laugh. Then this book is for you.

The book is great the narrator not so much

I love this series but the narrator makes it sound like a bunch of rugrats reading which is annoying to listen to.
