The Moon has been sucked through a wormhole in space and has arrived countless miles away from its proper place. The crew of Moonbase Alpha can only guess at the resultant devastation left behind on Earth. They must decide how best they can survive. True to the source and more!

Volume 1 is very gripping. Every story had me wanting more. Plus, the performance is superb!

sci-fi is all about Woke

ignore the woke comments from previous reviewers because well they are kind of stupid ...

First and foremost: WOKE Is what sci-fi is all about, anyone who gets all bent out of shape about woke shouldn't even be listening to this sci fi . This is not a place for the undereducated so go back to your cave and your people and you will be fine with your Civil War reenactments Nazi meetings ,hate speech, intolerance and all the stuff you guys used to do in the closet while the rest of us move on. ugga bugga Cro-Magnon.

it is a shame in this age and in this time that Don Quixote is not a novel written in the 17th century , that was formally considered a punishment by High School seniors but instead a warning to Future Generations about the orange Menace (and Rudy/Santos )who is out on bond for trying to subvert the Democratic process.

Even worse is that you still have Rhonda Santos ib FLA who would burn books if she thought she could get away with it.

Woke has always been a part of sci-fi always has been always will be and it's about rejecting intolerance and being a better people not being Nazis or walking in lockstep and fealty with an orange dork tater.
BOOM!


The story: it's really good, the audio is terrific the music the voices everything is very good reminded me of the show I used to watch a long time ago on TV.

You may need to look up the TV show possibly on Amazon it's really good an idea if you've never heard of space 1999 before so I would recommend that and I would also say it wouldn't hurt to look at a few images or even check a few novels .

Get this audiobook it is really good and I enjoyed it from the word go , just really amazing quality . There is a lack of narration and that's fine but like I said you should if you're not familiar with the show watch an episode or two on amz just to understand the show better otherwise you might be lost in this novel if you've never watched space 1999.

classic Sci-fi at its best!

Audio Dramas and your imagination

I truly believe the best stories, whether told in movies, books, or orally, allow your imagination to play a significant role. This adaption of an old TV show has this in spades. The voice actors are do an exceptional job of conveying emotion with just words, inflection, and background sound effects. I enjoyed listening to the reimagining of Space 1999 truly feeling like you are part of the struggle to survive and understand what the heck is going on. If you are a fan of this beloved old show you'll like this adaption.

Awesome reboot of a great childhood sci-fi series

I was a little hesitant when I’d first heard of this new series, but quickly warmed up to it as the voice acting was very professionally done and the stories modernized to make more sense (especially the explanation of how the moon left orbit without blowing up).
Definitely worth a listen and I keep checking for more volumes!

Safe Space 1999: Not a Great Property to Turn Woke

In the first few minutes of this audiobook, a woman named Dashka Kano appears. So classic '99 character David Kano is now, apparently, a woman. We discover he--er, she--has just lost Her Wife, Mary. She mourns for under a minute. (Mary isn't wholly lost yet, but her main squeeze runs through the grieving process faster than Barry Allen eats a Pizza Hut buffet.) Lots of spacy sounds and a feeling of dramatic action, but the story is DOA with the awkward woke content. Until such weirdness is handled organically, it's just an embarrassing ruination of family entertainment.

Does not follow canon

its ok. Once you get past the social politics its ok. The acting is great. Sound effects, great. The story dosent follow cannon from the TV show. Sandra wasnt a lesbian...she was into a guy named Michael then Paul. I think small deviations from canon are ok, but this is a GLARING PANDER (i use the teem deliberately). I just want a good outerspace story.
