Publisher's summary

Kwame "Soul" Asante, the son of a vicious African warlord, has never had it easy - especially after coming to America for new and prosperous beginnings. Putting his dark past behind him, he decides to get a normal 9-to-5 working as a corrections officer at a minimum security prison in Gainesville, Georgia. Things are going swimmingly until the troublesome and mysterious Diana Prince crosses his path. She's annoying, obnoxious, and a pain in his ass. But on the upside, she's also beautiful, kind-hearted, and compassionate.

When she's finally released due to lack of evidence, their relationship takes off in a whirlwind of lust. She's a rider and she's down to do whatever it takes to prove her loyalty - be it catching a body or a case. And the fact that she lovingly accepts his daughter is just the icing on the cake.

All seems well until their perfect world is shattered by a sudden, tragic death, leaving Soul to take over a multi-billion-dollar drug business. Not only does he inherit the company, he also inherits the enemies and debt that come along with it. Will Soul be able to juggle his duties as a father, husband, and businessman? Or will he fall prey to the rivals that are waiting to see him crash and fail?

Soul and Diana is the highly-anticipated and riveting spin-off of the Wife of a Misfit series. If you loved Cameron and all of her juicy drama, you'll love this fast-paced, heart-gripping love story from national best-selling author Jade Jones.

Dirty Diana

I absolutely love this book. Diana and soul are really something else. how could you be so street smart but so naive at the same time. I guess looks can sometimes be deceiving.

The Timeline Was All Over the Place

The overall plot was somewhat typical but I was in need of mindless reading so I was ok with that, however the timeline was all over the place all the events of the book was suppose to take place in a 2 week period but Ian and Diana has been kicking it for a couple of weeks before the concert. It was also annoying that the night of the big fight happened in 3hrs. how?! Anyway now I am invested and want to see how everything works out. My hope is that more attention to the details is paid as the books continue because I now see there are 4!!

Women and the men we love

This book was very good. I enjoyed the book. Looking forward to book two. Hope part two will be as good as part one. I didn't like that Soul was a women beater. I liked that Diane was a fighter to the end. Overall the book was good.

LOVED IT!

I really enjoyed it! The narration was great. It will keep you entertained. The author does a great job with the characters and plot. Although the story is very short, it didn't lack in entertainment. This was my first book by this author but definitely not my last. I look forward to reading more of her books. I always love a good bad boy!

First, I have to start off by stating that I got this book free of charge in exchange for a review, but as I always state, this does not in any way impact my review. My reviews are always honest and my own.

I am hollering!!!!!! Man, I thought this was gonna be a love story but honey was I wrong.. This goes to show you that your life can change in an instant. The soul makes my nerves itch, I never thought he would turn out to be someone I didn't like.. Lord Dianna, oh Lawd!! And Yohanna though, this girl is on some revenge stuff!!! Omg, I need part two like today!!!!!! This book deserves 10 stars!!

I love the story but l hate how it ended. What a pitiful and shameful ending.

An emotional ride!

Soul and Diana (An Atlanta Love Story) by Jade Jones and narrated by Derrick E. Hardin is an emotional ride! I’ve been looking at Jade’s books for a while now and had an opportunity to request the audible version and glad I did. It’s an in-your-face, on the edge of your seat, emotional listen for adults.

The story goes back and forth from the present to the past. I had no problem keeping up with it, but it left me wanting to know more of Soul and Diana’s history (you do get enough info to understand what’s happening in the current book). I found myself rooting for Diana more than any other character I’ve read about (maybe because the reality of some of the situations/knowing others who have been in similar situations hits close to home). There is no shortage of action and drama. Some folks might have problems grasping the slang, but that’s what Google is for. It is left with a cliffhanger.

This book is about so much more than love- how difficult it is to change our habits, how power/money can change you, friendship, relationships, toxic masculinity, reaching your breaking point, doing better for your children/how innocent kids suffer due to the choices of adults, how love sometimes makes us stupid, and broken promises.
My favorite quotes from the book are: “Communication is the key to every successful relationship.” and “At some point you had to realize some people can stay in your heart but not in your life.”

The narrator, Derrick E. Hardin, was wonderful. He captured the characters perfect and has a very easy to listen to voice.

The only issue I had with the book was sometimes certain words took away from the story, but at the same time they were made to fit certain characters. Also should note there appears to be some glitches with editing- a couple words at the end of three or four sentences repeated twice.

Overall I would recommend. I would listen to another story by Jade and narrated by Derrick in a heartbeat.

Parental guidance/trigger warnings: This book is for adults. Physical altercations between numerous characters, fairly graphic sex scenes, single parent (or father’s minimal involvement), gun shot wounds, relationship problems play a large role in the book, cheating, prison talk/memories, torture of a man, drugs (selling), domestic violence, rough sex/rape (some will see it as rape while others might see it as rough sex), anal sex, schizophrenia, murder (of daughter and husband), and addiction.
Words: swearing (lots of it, pretty much every word is used), slurs (n-word, f@g***)
