Publisher's Summary

All her life, Annie Prideaux has suffered through her brother's constant practical jokes. But Jake's last joke is one too many, she decides when he sets her up on a blind date with his friend Drew - neglecting to tell his straight sister one tiny detail: Her date is not a man but a lesbian.

Annie and Drew decide it's time to turn the tables on Jake by pretending to fall in love with each other.

At first glance, they have nothing in common. Disillusioned with love, Annie focuses on books, her cat, and her work as an accountant while Drew, more confident and outgoing, owns a dog and spends most of her time working in her beloved vineyard.

Only their common goal to take revenge on Jake unites them. But what starts as a table-turning game soon turns Annie's and Drew's lives upside down as the lines between pretending and reality begin to blur.

Something in the Wine is a story about love, friendship, and coming to terms with what it means to be yourself.

Sweet story. No sex.

I enjoyed the story. I am dissapointed in the lack of a love scene. The story could have been so much better.

Good romantic comedy that warms your heart.

I read a ton of the romances and will have to say this was good one. I found myself looking forward to reading and catching up on what was going to happen next. Yes it was a bit predictable but if you like wine and romance you will enjoy this delightful rom-com.

Something In The Book

Loved it! I found myself laughing and truly enjoying the blossoming of the friendship between Annie and Drew. It was relatable on many levels and was lol’ing throughout the adventure. It’s always sad to say goodbye to characters and Annie and Drew are no exception. Au revoir Annie & Drew!

The audible narration was good but found myself wondering at times, which character was speaking. Would have been good to have more distinctive voices to tell the characters apart.

Overall, loved the story and bought another Jae book, as I enjoyed this first one so much!

Another amazing story by Jae

After listening to "Perfect Rhythm" I knew I would love any of her stories and this one proved me right.

I think I'm in love with this Audiobook !

My wife (who I'm playing this book for a chapter each night before sleep) has gotten rather jealous because over the last 2 weeks I've spent more time with this audiobook than I've spent with her (I'm retired & she works 40 hrs a week). My problem is I don't know which character Ilove more, Annie or Drew. I want a sequel, I want a movie ... I at least want some FanFict expanding on this story ... wow Ilove this book ! ! !

Plenty of angst, but No sex

Couldn't tell the difference between main character's voices, no intimacy in the end. Disappointing overall.

Decent Book, has alot of potential!

Overall the book was decent. I'm a Jae fan and very much enjoy her books. This one left a lot to desire tho. I was disappointed at the lack of sex scenes, which made the book anticlimactic for me. It was a sweet coming out story. The characters had good chemistry and so much potential to be fiery but 11 hrs and no action... :-/. The narrator was good tho, if it wasn't for her having a nice voice, I might have not listened til the end.

This one isn't x-rated

I'm a bit disappointed by the ending & lack of the X-rated stuff. That said, like all other Jae books I've read, this was a wonderful story and I couldn't put it down.

Narrator did a good job with this story.

I loved this audiobook and will definitely listen to it again. As I've come to expect from Jae (the author), this book is a well written story that pulls you in from start to finish. I have found Jae to be a solid author who doesn't disappoint. When I start her books I have come to know and trust that I will enjoy them.

The main characters (Annie & Drew) in this book are very likeable and easy to relate to. I enjoyed the story very much, and actually really liked that it was a slow burn romance for these two.

The narrator did a good job of capturing these characters and the story.
