Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Some Kind of Wonderful by Giovanna Fletcher, read by Emily Atack.

When the love of your life says you're not The One, who are you?

Lizzy and Ian have been a couple since the first week of university. Now, after celebrating a decade together, everyone thinks they're about to get engaged.

Instead, a romantic escape to Dubai leaves Lizzy with no ring, no fiancé and no future.

Lizzy is heartbroken - but through the tears, she sees an opportunity. This is her moment to discover what she's been missing while playing Ian's ideal 'better half'. But how much has Ian changed her, and who should she be without him?

Determined to discover who she is at heart, Lizzy sets out to rediscover the girl she was before - and, in the meantime, have a little fun....

Enjoyable light read

This is the first of her books and I enjoyed it. I wonder if she will right about Natalia next.

Love the book but.....

The narration by Emily Atack is awful! Spoken so quickly and rushed, on audible when you slow is down to -75 sounds slurred and boring. Ruined this book for me. I love the story, ordered it on kindle so I did not have to listen. The writing is great, lovely story however I prefer to listen to audio books wish the author had narrated it herself

Book was fab - Dull narrator voice

The book was another triumph but oh my goodness the narrators voice was dull and monotone, making the book seem dull even though the story was great. Such a shame, as it spoilt my enjoyment of it.

How bad narration can spoil a good book

Book was well written with a decent story however the narration by Emily Atack was rushed in places, monotone and BORING. I certainly won’t listen to anything narrated by her again!!

UNBEARABLE DRIVEL!

Just awful! Rushed narration , drippy , needy heroine. Depressing and dull. Such a shame as story sounded interesting.

A kind of wonderful book

I loved this book I was totally invested in the characters. It had me giggling out loud in places and without any spoilers (Albie and Sandra’s passage at the end) had me welling up . I loved the narration and inhaled the book. My second of Giovanna’s books and am happily looking forward to choosing her next one.

Not terrible

Not the worst book I've ever read. Good enough to pass the time. I found the narrative tended to drone on too much, to the point where I'd skip forward 30 seconds and she's still working her way through a tedious list, or a rant about pop culture references that became a little too repetitive.
I have always enjoyed listening to Emily Atack, but fear that this material was a bit mundane for her talent. A few moments where I wished the author had thrown in a comma here and there so the woman could catch a breath!
