Loved it

I have never listened to any of her books that didn’t keep me engaged up to the very end. There were a few slow parts in the beginning but after that I listened every chance I got. It bugs me that my library doesn’t carry any of her books.

Great book

Good story line and good character development. Interesting family relationships and interactions between spouses and siblings.

Great story and excellent narrator

I loved this story. The narrator was outstanding. I was so sad to have it end!! Highly recommend!!

Love Jean Grainger novels

A great historical novel from the point of view of Irish in WWII. Loved characters.

Another home run!

What I particularly like about this author is how she brings to life the real world experiences of the human beings who lived through the events that she portrays fictitiously. There is a difference between knowing history, and developing a rudimentary understanding of the impact of events on people who lived through it. Jean Grainger provides a gripping storyline that engages us in the lives of people who represent those we will never meet, yet, and to whom, indeed we do owe so much. Skilled, talented narration brings it home.
