Publisher's summary

This movie was supposed to be my big break. There’s an enormous budget, the director is an Oscar winner, and the script is beautiful.

But they want to film it in February. That’s complicated for an arctic fox shifter like me. We have a biological need for prolonged physical contact during burrowing season. I normally spend February cuddling with my family, not filming a movie in the middle of the woods.

The studio said they’d find a professional cuddler for me. That seemed a little awkward, but I agreed to it. I figured they’d hire a woman or another male omega. But no.

They hired Dimitri Cross.

He’s the retired NHL player I spent my teenage years drooling over. Technically, he’s an arctic fox shifter too, but he’s also half grizzly shifter—and an alpha—so he’s built like a tank. I’ve always had a weakness for huge jocks who could throw me over their shoulder.

How am I supposed to cuddle with this guy all month if I can’t even go near him without getting butterflies in my stomach?

What am I going to do?

Snuggleslut is a low-angst romance set in the Omegaverse with a size difference, knotting, and mpreg. It’s book two in the Burrowing Hearts series, but it stands alone.

Cute burrowing romance with some spice

I really enjoyed this story between Evan, an aspiring actor, and Dimitri, a retired hockey play turned cuddle companion. Evan needs a professional cuddler while on shoot for his first movie due to artic fox shifter needs for touch during the month of February. Dimitri Cross is an ex-hockey player turned professional cuddler who happens to be paired with Evan. I thought their chemistry hit right from the first and I liked how they still were able to get to know each other and really form a nice foundation for a relationship. It's a pretty easy read with just a bit of emotional ups and down but nothing too crazy. These guys are pretty spicy when they get down to it and I loved the chemistry between them. I've hear a few of Lance's narrations and this feels pretty in line with his work. I do like his voice a lot but I also think his characters can sound a tad bit the same after a while. That's not to say he isn't good as I do think he emotes very well with his voice. It's just a note that personally, I have to space his works apart when listening to them. I did particularly enjoy his rendition of Evan and it felt fun in a way that well reflected the character.

In case you were wondering, this is a fairly good stand alone and you don't need to have knowledge of the prior story in this series. I haven't listened to the previous story and had no trouble following along.

Beautiful story

This was heartwarming and beautiful. I love seeing how couples deal with adversity in their relationships and this one was unique. These characters have so much warmth to their personalities that makes them so lovable!

A very entertaining narration of a highly enjoyable book. Sweet with heat, some humor and angst. Very family centered which is absolutely lovely.

Very sweet story

I'm a sucker for shifter AND mpreg books. This book had both! Evan is a sweetheart trying to make it in Hollywood. Dimitri is a retired hockey player who was hired to snuggle with Evan. They are both instantly attracted to each other and as they spend time together they realize it's more than just attraction. They are very sweet together. I love how Dimitri wants to take care of Evan and makes sure he gets everything he wants. and theres some steam too!! I had never listened to anything narrated by Lance West and I think he did a good job!

Great Feel Good Story

First off I was given this story for free for an honest review. I have loved the whole series of of books by Amy Bellows so I jumped up and down to volunteer to listen and review.

This is a sweet story, with a slow burn. The MC’s are just different enough from each other to give the story its push and pull. I liked the side characters (parent and grandparents). And I liked how tradition was important to both Evan and Dimitri. Pacing was good and the heat level medium.

Lance West was a new to me narrator and he did a wonderful job. I wasn’t listening to him read a story, I was listening to the characters interact as if I was there in the corner as the story played out.

a wonderful feel good story

Amy Bellows has created a world of shifters here that is unlike any of the other PNR worlds I have read. I absolutely loved that in this world hetero couples are few and far between. This book can be read/listened to as a standalone as I had not read book 1 and it didn’t matter but after I immediately went and bought the audio because I wanted to know more. It’s so stinking cute but they are not without their heartbreak while hoping to bond. These books are feel good escapism. There’s a lot of love between the MCs and their families and made me feel warm and cozy.

Dimitri is hired by the studio to be a professional cuddler for Evan while he’s on set filming during traditional burrowing season and unable to be with his family. A snowstorm shuts down production and they are stuck together while their mutual attraction for each other is through the roof tempting them to turn this professional relationship into something so much more. During their time snowed in a lot happens which I won’t ruin, but watching them tentatively build a relationship built on true intimacy was beautiful and heartfelt. I enjoy a shifter book where they claim each other and jump straight into the physical but there is something very special about this series.

Lance West did a good job bringing these characters to life and I enjoyed listening to him. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this audiobook.
