Publisher's Summary

Darius is back. Edinburgh thought that it had seen the last of this seductive dragon king, but that was before Darius found something worthwhile. He just can't stay away from the impossibly beautiful Dr. Sophie Martin, even though he knows that a passion this strong could prove detrimental for them both.

Sophie tried to forget her encounter with smoking-hot Darius to no avail. He's in her dreams, tempting her. But her association with Darius catches the attention of another, putting her in mortal danger, and Darius, who has vowed to protect her, is her only hope. But can she trust the notorious dragon shape-shifter? The only thing she knows for sure is that she cannot resist him.

Great continuation of the series!!!

Another great addition to the Dark King Series. "Smothering Hunger" picks up right where the previous book, "Soul Scorched" left off. I'm going to take a minute to say that technically, you can read these books on their own, however, personally, I believe, you will get significantly better understanding of the larger picture of what is transpiring if you read the entire series. This being said, if you started reading the series here with SMOLDERING HUNGER, you will want to go back anyways to rad the previous stories.

Donna, the author, continues to entice the readers with each page. The heroine, Sophie, is independant, smart and knows what she wants. While she has suffered in the past, she is ready to move forward. The hero, Darius is happy killing the Dark Fae yet is memorized by Sophie and while the physical attraction is evident, he can't help wonder if there might be more...

Oh Rhi!!! This is another example of where Donna's writing skills excel... Rhi, while technically a secondary character, has develop a following which adores the character and can't wait to learn who her Dragon King is! SERIOUSLY Donna! You're messing with our EMOTIONS!!!

The Reapers make more of an appearance in this installment and OMG, talk about the potential for a twist swirl Donna has caused! That's all I'm saying!!

All and all ... the main arc of defeating the Dark Fae and Ulrik continues. It's now a matter of when and how.

Narrator: Antony Ferguson continues to do a great job with the series, though there are a few mispronunciation with the character's name. Also, the way he does the females' voices sometimes comes across a bit nasally.

Only a few more books left in the series....

Love this series so much!

Any additional comments?

I really love this series. Darius is a hot smart mouth King. He knows he doesn't want a mate but can't stop his attraction to the beautiful Dr. Sophie Martin. He has eyes for only her. Dr. Sophie Martin tries but fells at wiping Darius from her mind. The single night they shared is on repeat in her mind.

I can't think of anything I didn't like about this audiobook. The voice as always makes you feel like your right in Scotland. The plot is getting thicker and thicker. I guess they one thing I do want like everyone else is Who is Rhys's Dragon! Boy I beat that book is going to blow everything out the water.

I have no words

So many things were revealed in this book I dont know what or where to begin. Personally, I think this couple had the best sexual chemistry and their love scenes were hot. And Rhi, where to begin with her. I always look forward to parts in this book and omg that last chapter was a shocker!

Only this sexy doctor can mend Darius’s broken sou

This book was originally read as a part of the Audible Escape package, then later purchased as a Kindle eBook to read at my own leisure. Smoldering Hunger #8 in the Dark King series; which is a part of the greater Dark World. Characters from previous books appear and longer subplots are formed and beginning to build.

Friend the Dragon King mate Darcy… Sophie is brought introduced in the previous book by healing Lexie. Now she has her toughest patient ever… a dragon. He is broken as she heals him with love, he protects from the war that she was brought into.

As with all Donna Grant books in the Dark World series once you get in… it is hard to get out.

awesome

The story is told so the characters come to life. The author has made me cry, laugh and jump for joy in some parts. All the books in this series have surprises that come from out of nowhere leaving your jaw dropped and wondering how the characters are going to get out of this mess.
I am totally addicted to this series.

Better and better

Ok I’m guessing “V” is gonna be a doosey.
Is Ulrich someone with a split personality? I’ve wondered and then the uncle is there again.

Really loving the series, so glad I found it.
