Cowboys & Polyamory

What a dirty little heart warming book complete with 2 sexy cowboys rescuing a deserving woman. But not the usual innocent woman, this book surprised me when the heroine was an older mother. Such a great twist! While the story was a little corny, it was ultimately wholly interesting and super hot. The narrators were fantastic. While CJ Bloom narrated the majority, it was great to be broken up by the grids voice of Ryan West. Perfect for this book.

Great story, great narration...def worth the read

This book was great. I loved the storyline of the "small town siren." While she was still so vulnerable to others, she had all the sass and backbone to give it right back to people...when she had the guts to at least. I love the relationship between the three of them, although I wish there had been more passion between Jack and Sam. I am hoping to see that develop more in the next book. CJ Bloom is always a must listen as far as narrators go for me and once again did not disappoint.

Disappointed

I listened to this audiobook until the end only because I’m a fan of Lexi's "Thieves" series and I hoped the story would improve. It was not the case. I did not believe in it, I did not particularly like the characters, it even irritated me several times and I hesitated to stop listening. I like ménage but not like this one.

Good

This was my second time reading about this poly-couple and my first time reading this new edition. This was the first book in the "Texas Siren" series. Abigail "Abby" Moore was run out of the small town of Willow Fork, TX 20 years ago with a bun in her oven. When her mother falls and breaks her hip Abby comes back to Willow Fork to care for her. While at her best friends house Christa she meets a hot sexy cowboy Sam Fleetwood. Jack Barnes and Sam Fleetwood have been friends for years they met in foster care years ago and they became best friends. They bought a ranch outside of Willow Fork and became rich when they discovered that the ranch is sitting on some kind of natural resource. When Jack meets Abby he wants her also but he didn't think she could handle the two of them until they find out what type of books that she likes turns out she likes reading about BDSM and threesomes then all bets are off. They begin dating her Abby thinks that they are gay. I wanted more M/M in this book although it was still hot. The town is rude and nasty to Abby all because they think she is a whore the mother of her late boyfriend who got her pregnant I wanted to slap that old lady she was crazy she blamed Abby for her son dying in a car accident that he was killed in while driving drunk. It was also crazy that an old lady turned a whole town against her and I was so glad when Jack stood up to the steakhouse owner. I also liked that Abby decided to take a stand and the thing in the store was funny. When Ruby Echols threatened to ruin Jack's business she tries to leave the guys but Jack wasn't having it he knew something was wrong. This was a good read and the narrator was also good. I am looking forward to reading and listening to the next book in this series.

Ryan West - amazing vocal actor storyteller!

Ryan West - masterful vocal actor storyteller with sincerely engaging (obviously well thought out and well mapped out) character performances of males and females, breathing life, clear intentions and wants into all of the characters he portrays; if Ryan performed the whole book, I would have given it five Stars in the Performance category. CJ Bloom did not always have enough sincerity in character portrayals (females or males) and I'd fall out of the story distracted by CJ's narration. Sometimes it felt like CJ was focused more on creating the the twang southern Sam voice or a "pouty", "Southern" woman "vixen" voice than feeling and reacting to the story through the lens of how the characters experience the "moment by moment" details Lexi Blake lays out. Storytelling like that is hard, but it really makes the characters and the story come alive when it is done well - hence the Ryan West accolades.

Small town living

I enjoyed this story, but it took me some time to get into it. Same goes for the narrating. I adored Ryan West in the Masters and Mercenaries Series, but it took me quite some time to get used to the combination with CJ Bloom. Interesting read Loved the conflicts and outcome.

The strength of all three main characters made the book worth reading. Really love this author's take on menage' and the HEA results.

I really liked the story...

...I really liked the dual POV narrators, but I think this would have worked better with the male narrator reading the male lines and the female narrator reading for the females, no matter the chapter. The female narrator was wonderful for the female lines, but I wasn't thrilled with her reading for Sam and Jack. Over all, I am just happy this story is available on audible. Thank you.

I just couldn't take Bloom's narration of the men

The narration of the men by CJ Bloom just wrecked it for me. I love Ryan West however he's not in the book enough. CJ's tone for the men was way off. The gentle scenes seemed like they were yelling. The male voice sounded like old drunken men... whinny. I just couldn't get into character... especially for the voice of Sam. The story line is way too simple for my liking. And, Sam's character became weaker and weaker as time went by. Also, too many vindictive events happened without appropriate retaliation. Some scenes were way too unrealistic... after 20 years. This is not typical of Lexi's writing. She is far too amazing for this book. Over all... blah!

Sooo good

I love the diet recording which really brings the characters to life and the voices seem to match how I imagined they would sound for real. Excellent story as always.

Great

The book was great but having 2 narrators was jarring, there didn't seem to be any reason for the switching, either would have been better although I much prefer Ryan's narration. Although I love Lexi Blames books this is my first foray into her writing as Sophie Oak, different but fun.

Wow

Loved this story of her coming back to the town that rejected her. Finding her men and love and showing the town who she really was. Narration was awesome too.
