Publisher's summary

Eve Babitz captured the voluptuous quality of LA in the 1960s in a wildly original, totally unique voice. These stories are time capsule gems, as poignant and startling today as they were when published in the early 1970s. Eve Babitz is not well known today, but she should be. Her firsthand experiences in the LA cultural scene, translated into haunting fiction, are an unforgettable glimpse at a lost world and a magical time.

Masterful narration with exquisite text

Makes this book a total joy. A woman living life on her own terms is a beautiful thing.

obsessed with Eve

I am on a journey back in the time of Sex drugs, and rock n roll in LA. I'm completely transported into Eve Babitz world. I can't wait to read her next rereleased Book.

I read this in one sitting. I loved it. Eve is brilliant and unfiltered. I will be returning to this book to enjoy it again!

Like a seventies polaroid it slowly reveals a hidden reality of L.A.

Excellent narration , wonderful stories and fantastic observations. At times , I felt like I was lazily driving to the ocean with sunglasses on and wondering what colors the sunset would be.

We all need a little Eve Babitz from time to time.

Weird narrative cadence

The story itself is disjointed and uninteresting. The narrator has a strange cadence, as though each sentence has a secret ending. It’s not great, mostly annoying.
