Great Debut for this up and coming fantasy author

It's difficult to introduce a new world to readers these days but even more difficult to capture us with storytelling. This author accomplished both. Looking forward to the continuing series. Well done!

Power of God and Anime

Our two main characters are basically pseudo-anime characters and the plot is pretty much just about them discovering Fantasy Jesus (a.k.a. "The One") and joining a war; I'm sure it gets deeper than that, but I lost all interest half-way through the book. I would've been fine with the story using the Bible as part of the world building or a minor plot element, but when it's used as the main motivation for the protagonists, it just feels like religion is being pushed onto me. It doesn't help either that there was also mention about how people lost the ability to use magic because they started to believe in logic and creativity than "The One."
