Publisher's Summary

Revenge is a dish best served with two smoking barrels.

Doing a favor for her mentor Sammy P., Skye Byrn runs in one of the usual suspects on Ter, a small time Crunkhead named Trudy, another one of Sammy’s works in progress. Then a crime lord’s bomb rocks the station and Skye’s world will never be whole again.

Determined to find the bomber and put an end to their takeover attempt - and their existence, Skye enlists an unlikely ally, Trudy. As the station descends into madness, she finds herself in the fight of her life. If she fails to stop the takeover, she’ll be just another victim in their growing body count.

Skye brings the heat and there’s no price she won’t pay for vengeance.

Audio version of Skye Bryn

I struggled with listening to this book compared to reading. interrupted too easily. not used to audiobook said I guess. I enjoyed the reading, just could not put together reasons for different things happening in the story. was difficult to understand the underlying storyline, plot, subplots and resolvemeant. I believe if I had read the book this would not have been an issue.

Enjoyable listen

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started listening to this book. I ended up really enjoying it. It has a cyberpunk/mafia vibe to it.

Fast Paced Sci Fi

This was an entertaining listen from start to finish. The narrator’s voices and inflection were spot on for the characters, and kept my mind from wandering from the story. The author’s description was such to paint a vivid portrait of a futuristic world and dramatic scenes, without becoming tedious. I will be looking for more from both the author and narrator.

Revenge Is Sweet in Space

When a package bomb sent by the syndicate blows up her office and takes out her boss and many of her colleagues, Skye goes out for vengeance in this action-packed thriller set on a space station.
Fast paced and well written with interesting characters and a cool S.F. setting that is easy to imagine.

Bring Skye Back

This was a awesome audio and for me more than some others. The book is full of action, and suspense, as bounty hunter Skye must leaver her comfort zone to find out who bombed her station and stop them before the whole station is ruined forever, but there are not to many people she can trust to help her and the ones she can are sketchy at best, but it is all she has.

This was a great book/audio and I hope author Avera brings Skye back again, I really loved her she is the kind of girl everyone strives to be on the inside, and narrator Rebecca Cosme was wonderful bringing the whole story alive and pulling you into the world with Skye and Trudy. Please write more.

Another great entry by Mr. Avera

Although I had already read this book on kindle, i wanted to see if the audible version was any good. I was pleasantly surprised with the overall quality. I already knew it was a good story, but the narrator was able to add color to the story.
The narrator did an exceptional job and used voice inflection and accents to clearly differentiate the various characters. She was also consistent in her delivery making it clear who was speaking, just by using different voices.

All in all this book is well worth the read and will entertain you for several hours.

narration gave me an interesting perspective

I read a lot of action, kick-ass kind of books (Ryan, Rapp, Reacher, etc). I expected Skye Byrn to be in that same mold based on the reviews and descriptions, but female. I was pleasantly surprised by the different perspective I got from listening to the narration by Cosme. The story is about a bounty hunter, Skye, who loses her friends to an attack by gangsters, and is out for revenge. A familiar main plot, with a lot of kicking butt and the usual, but with some interesting diversions and characters. I expected a kick-ass, hard-nosed protagonist, but the voicing by Rebecca Cosme made me feel like she was not really the hard person I expected, but was a softer, more gentle person that was driven to act the way she did out of anger and emotions. I don't know if I would have gotten that much of an impression by just reading the book. Rebecca did a great job with the voicing for multiple characters, and made it easier to follow the action. I enjoyed the book, and would like to see where it goes from here.

Decent listen

This was a pretty good story. However, the main character did seem a bit too whiny and "woe is me" for my tastes. The narrator did come across as a bit monotonous but still made the characters have their own voices. All that said, it was still a decent book and a quick listen.

easy read

I was given this book in return for a review.
A gritty fast paced fururistic story, raw flawed characters. An enjoyable, short and easy to listen to tale.
Great narrator with animated vocals and a good range voices.
