I LOVE Wilkie Collins' work and have thoroughly enjoyed listening to it aloud by other narrators. However, the narrator for this particular collection has one of the most grating and affected speech patterns I have ever heard. Her voice quality and tone is lovely, but her habit of ending virtually every sentence with a drawn out last syllable on the final word is so incredibly irritating that I could not even focus on the story line or language. It is like she is conveying, "Aren't I clever and mysterious?" with every frigging sentence! She may be fine in other narratives, but RUN FAST away from this listen and find a better version of Collins' work!
