Publisher's Summary

A cyberattack on an obscure US dam leaves thousands dead and the government wondering who attacked it, and why. When they realize it is just the tip of the iceberg - and that the safety of all of America is at stake - the president has no choice but to call in Luke Stone.

Head of an elite, disbanded FBI team, Luke does not want the job. But with new enemies - foreign and domestic - closing in on her from all sides, the president can only trust him. What follows is an action-packed international roller-coaster, as Luke learns that the terrorists are more sophisticated than anyone realizes, that the target is more extensive than anyone could image - and that there is very little time left to save America.

A political thriller with non-stop action, dramatic international settings, unexpected twists and heart-pounding suspense, Situation Room is book three in the Luke Stone series, an explosive new series that will leave you listening late into the night.

From the sublime to the ridiculous

The narrator did what he could with the plot. Anyone who can read what sound like campy TV batman fight sounds ( KaPow) deserves credit. There were so many places where the reader/listener was expected to suspend belief in not only technical and political reality but also the mere passage of time that this would be better characterized as a fantasy novel.

Suspend disbelief and enjoy!!

The ability to suspend disbelief is important to enjoying most fiction. Enjoyment of Situation Room and the other two novels in the Luke Stone espionage thriller series requires a strong determination to maintain the suspension of disbelief. Action and suspense junkies will enjoy this series. The series is not great literature; heck, it is not even good literature, but is a wild and fun ride. That a top fashion model could become US president and that a US espionage agent reporting directly to the former fashion model goes in to North Korea and kills its leader are not the most difficult situations to believe.

too socially liberal

never going to read another one of his books, non-stop hating of the country and always trying to be socially conscious.

Very good book, but getting into North Korea?

A little farfetched at the end. I also can't get past the audio narrator not being able to pronounce Nuclear.

This Series Rocks

I've thoroughly enjoyed this series so far. Luke Stone is an amazing character and I'm looking forward to his next adventure, as totally bizarre as it may be. There's never a dull moment and action and intrigue abounds. And let's not forget Madam President! Susan may have started out as a model before being elected Vice President and inheriting the Presidency when the President was assassinated, but she has turned into one kickass woman! She doesn't take guff from anyone and never quits.

Nuclear is a two syllable word!!!!

The story was ok. Again, the vague character that seems to "know everything" saves the day. Really, Jack Mars needs to build the character and not just use him as a way to advance the story. Demonstrates a lack of creativity.

Kelly is an excellent orator. Please review how to say the word nuclear. This was impressively annoying and distracting.

All in all, the story is entertaining even if it is very, very unrealistic. It's a Luke Stone thriller...

Very engaging

These Luke Stone books (after the first one) are somewhat predictable ... like a "24" episode, our protagonist appears to "go rogue," but ultimately redeems himself in a major way.

However, that in no way diminishes my enjoyment of them... I actually look forward to my commutes so I can catch the next couple chapters.
