Our dear Dima, who is now 130-years-old, is not what you would call a loving mother. Treating her daughters as slaves is only the beginning. In a show of tough love, she cursed Medea to be a cat at sundown, returning to her human form in the morning. Yes, I said daughters, plural. This volume introduces Nikki as daughter number two. Nikki was born beautiful, a Marilyn Monroe lookalike, but her mother has her working scrubbing toilets; to build confidence and fortitude no doubt. Nikki also shares a secret with Medea, which eventually causes tension between them. Over time, Nikki becomes quite the little hustler with an interesting story all her own.
