DNF. Unoriginal and boring

I really wanted to like this, as I was looking for a fun and light listen. I couldn’t finish it, unfortunately.
Maybe, if this was my very first book in this genre, it would have been acceptable but there is nothing new about the story, not much to like about the characters.
I am fed up with romance replaced by sex and interminable objectification of the male/female body. The “sexy times “ in this book are not even interesting. The hot-cold, forbidden fruit routine is tiresome if done badly and a superficial way of creating sexual tension.
“Lost” main characters, spineless heroine, injured athlete, repetitive descriptions of lust, superficial interactions, nosy secondary characters, meddling families, etc don’t make for a fun listen. There are some flat jokes thrown in. I had to stop listening.

It’s ok I’m unbelievably irritated with how immature the 25 year old female is in this story. She is back at home after a failed romance and instead of doing what an adult would do to get back on their feet she behaves like an entitled whinny teenager with little respect for the family who is helping her. In my life I don’t think I’ve ever met nor read about a 25 year female behaving like this. Especially a female who’s generally years ahead of most males. If you can get past that it’s tolerated for me I couldn’t
