Book two in the Amazon best-selling Demigods of San Francisco series!

I've agreed to work for a Demigod. My job? Find the spirit of his mother and release her before his vengeful father finds out and kills us all.

Have I lost my mind?

Thankfully, I don't have to do it alone. Kieran has brought in help.

Bria Stevens is everything I'm not - magically savvy, edgy, and highly experienced. She's a Necromancer who loves to flirt with danger. With her help, I can suss out the clues surrounding the spirit of Kieran's mom, all while learning my potent and extremely terrifying magic.

But as we work deeper into magical San Francisco, we uncover a minefield waiting to explode. A small misstep will have Valens at our doors. I'm about to find out that there are far worse things than mere death.

Can't wait for more!

This series has me hooked! I love when authors find a new twist to a story with the ancient gods. The Olympian Gods are mentioned, but not in the forefront. Instead we get Demi-Gods with new takes on a world where magic is out of the bag and a mash up of awesome character - each of which I would love to see a stand alone book or series (Hint, hint)

The narration is well done. Proper inflections, accents, and voices. She's really easy to listen too.

Can't wait for more!

Too much SEX, Not enough Story

Maybe since I am older, I no longer find myself wanting to read about multiple sex scenes in a book, unless it adds something to the story, or is the premise for the book. That isn't the case in this book series.

I read the first two books, and half of the third but had to stop. I really like the general story; the main characters, and the side characters have so much to offer. I admire the cause everyone is fighting for. What I find incredibly difficult to stomach is when there are so many sex scenes, drawn out ones, that make me question the point of the book.

Alexis is the main character and I wanted to see her triumph and come into her own, but when she becomes infatuated with Kieran she is reduced to the stereotypical woman in a romance novel (These novels are in the Paranormal Fantasy genre, not romance) who falls on her back, and sees nothing else but her desire for him. She loses her ability to think like a rational person, her dialogue made me shake my head, I will never understand why female authors write dialogue for women this way, it is truly baffling.

Khristine Hvam on the other hand is a complete knockout! She is one of the best narrators I have listened to. She narrates Faith Hunter's- Jane Yellowrock series as well. If you would like a well thought out, and strong female character I would recommend reading her books over these.

Love this series!

I love this series, the characters, & world the author created. Love the dynamic between Alexis & the kids. Of course Kristine is able to bring this story alive like no other narrator.

Picks up right where the first left off

Not that I care about handbags whatsoever, but I could have sworn the end of the previous book said it was white… minor thing. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised… after reading the little blurb about the newest female character, Bria, I had expected competition over the demi-god. She’s a bit, okay, a lot, more nuts and a lot less competition. The kids are still smart as hell and pains in the butt like teenagers tend to be. I suspect I know where the item they’re looking for is, but maybe I’m thinking it’s too obvious… Who knows?
Nope, my guess was wrong… nice job… I thought I was being clever.
A little over 2 and a half hours left in the reading and I couldn’t help but say “Holy sh*t!” repeatedly out loud... 5 stars is not enough! And I’m not even done yet!! Poor Jack, lol. What else can I say… poor guy gets the short end of several sticks. I keep hoping he’ll get more good karma. And she really does need a bigger house. Again, nicely wrapped up with no cliffhanger type feel even though it’s obvious that the story continues. Very well done!

Huh

Overall 3.5 stars. Can't put a finger on why I was less pleased with this one than the last.

Of course Khristine Hvam is still extraordinary.

It seems that the part I don't like is the romance/sex. I rather like the story. I am wondering why a female MC needs to always be a love interest. The family and friendship angles are a very good part of the book.

Great PNR

This is such a fantastic paranormal series. I love the depth and development of the characters and the unexpected humor that comes out along the way. I will definitely be continuing with this series to find out what happened with Alexis and demigod Kieran.

Light and imaginary

Lexi and her wards are fun, down to earth characters that built their their life from stark environment and experiences. Throughout their hardship they retained their sense of self and positively changed people around them also. I cannot wait to see their unreleased powers. I am happy to see Lexi's strength as a single woman with two wards/children and their resourcefulness. The developing romance with the demigod and friendship with his six complete the story. love this series

Chemistry is off the charts

‘Sin & Magic’ is book two in K.F. Breene’s Demigods of San Francisco series. This is a continues on from ‘Sin & Chocolate’.

Mordecai and Daisy’s have gotten their miracles, now it’s time for Alexis. But is working for a stalking, manipulative Demigod going to be a good idea. Kieran may have helped Mordecai with his treatment with no attachment and the goodness of his heart. But he is still a demigod that gets what he wants and he is determined to have Alexis. Can Alexis help Kieran find his mother’s skin and set her free?

This is one HOT read, the chemistry and attraction between Alexis and Kieran is off the pages. I was gluttonous for this book. I just couldn’t put it down I stay up all night reading it. Unfortunately I had to be an adult and couldn’t read during the day, but as soon as it came to bedtime I thought I’ll get a few chapters in before sleeping. But I was starving, and just gobbled it all up.

Alexis’ character has come a long way since almost being ran over by a fancy red Ferrari. Her powers are unique just like her and her uncanny ability to do extraordinary things with her magic.

Kieran may be a Demigod, all powerful but he is still a man. He deeply loves his mother and will go to extreme lengths to set her free. But there is one exception, Alexis and her safety.

This book had me in stitches at the most inappropriate of times. The Six are wonderful secondary characters that need to be mentioned and praised. They all each bring something to the story with different levels of gruff, grunt, manliness and s*xiness.

But the Wards continue make their marks in the hearts of all that meet them. But at times I do find them to be too much to handle, especially with the way to carry on with Alexis, telling her what she should be doing and how to stay away from Kieran. They are willing to give the Six chances but not Kieran. Although Kieran doesn’t really give them the chance to know him like he is with Alexis.

Bria is such a great new addition to this growing “family” of misfits. Her no filter and bluntness is refreshing considering all the secrecy and manipulation that goes on in this book.

But this scene deserves its own recognition as it stood out.
“You just had the one,” Bria said, shouldering her pack. “And she’s half your size, I might add. That chick ward is a nut. She doesn’t do anything like normal people. She’s like a little gremlin. Then the shifter kid plays off of her, and suddenly I’m under siege.”

A bit of a heads up, this book contains hot, steamy, intimate, s*xual moments between Kieran and Alexis.

narrator is perfect as always

You know I have a several promo audiobooks I need to review but here I am going straight onto the next one of the series, because I am in love with this family. The Demigod and his 6. Breas entire personality.

There is sex in this one it's hot but short and sweet on the occasions it happens. I can't think of any complaints, It was good and I've just grown rather fond of everyone
