Not Horrible, Not Worth Continuing
I tried hard to be fair with this book and give it a chance. For me, and I'm not anyone's authority on what makes a book good, it just didn't do it.
The story's description for the book says this: "If you crave heart-stopping action, unyielding heroes, and mind-bending surprises...". This book never got close to "heart-stopping action" or "mind-bending surprises." I found it tedious and uninteresting. The ending for me made the story worse, just too unrealistic for the setting and situation.
Was it completely terrible? No, but I wouldn't recommend it and won't be continuing to invest in the following books.

A bit dull at first
The author provided me with a complimentary copy of this audiobook with no expectation of a review. This book was a bit dull IMO until about the last 5 chapters when the action really heated up. WARNING: It ends on a cliffhanger!

Fast paced action thriller
I really enjoyed this book. The narration was very fitting for the story. I’m a big fan of teotwawki books and this one was a great addition. As a father of two very string willed daughters I always like seeing a female main character who more than holds her own. I liked how nobody was flawless and good and bad traits were shown.
