Great Narration

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I recommend it because it is Hesse's most beautiful story.

What other book might you compare Siddhartha to and why?

Life of Pi??

Have you listened to any of Chris Hendrie’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have heard Gatsby and Treasure Island, and Metamorphosis - this is hard to compare since it is more of an epic poem than a "novel".

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

No Keanu Reeves!

Any additional comments?

Yes, I wrote a review and you lost it This is a beautifully rendered version of "Siddhartha" that captures the music of Hesse's tone and rhythm - Chris Hendrie's skills bring out the respect and love Hesse had for the life of this great teacher - in a voice that is captivating.

One of my favorites but poor recording quality

A classic and beautiful story which was well performed but often times the recording quality was so poor it was difficult to understand what was being said.

Subpar pronunciation takes away from what is a great book

The narrator Chris Hendrie constantly messes up Eastern Religious jargon which ruins the book for me. At the time of writing this review there is another version available of the audiobook and I would recommend getting that instead. The content no doubt is of top quality, it’s just this particular narration that is bad.
Get the other version, imo. As far as the book goes, there are few books for me that qualify as a must-read for everyone and this is one of them.

Horrible Audio Quality.

I was unable to finish book and will be requesting credit back, to be clear the issue is not with the contents of the book, I have no way to review that because I could not focus on the words, with how bad the single word clip choppy cut and paste audio.

Bad audio

Classic story. When the audio was good it was good but many fluctuations and “dubbed over “ sounding sections throughout the book. Sounds like a draft copy.

Poor quality audio

I'm not sure if this is an old recording but the audio levels need to be normalized. I found myself changing the volume constantly. You can tell parts were recorded non-chronologically and edited back in, possibly using different equipment

Good story

It is a good story of a man's search for meaning, truth, and what life is all about.

Bad recording

Great book, great reading, terrible recording. Cuts in and out; often barely audible. Skip this one.
